Mediocre or some B Movies that You WOULD like to see ReMade
We've talked a lot about the "horror" of seeing our favorite movies from the past being remade. What are some okay movies that you've seen and liked and thought - Wow, that would be SOOOOO cool if this was made again with today's technology.

One movie that comes to mind with this topic is Carnival of Souls. I know a lot of people didn't like this little movie. But I liked the black and white film, the use of shadows, the creepy people dancing...then I thought, wow, with makeup effects today and a really good director, this could be even better with the twist ending. But I would still watch the old one just because of the atmosphere...there are a few other movies that I could think of, some that were just REALLY bad and you think, hey, it would be great if they could redo this movie and really make it a great one! divinemsjunebug:We've talked a lot about the "horror" of seeing our favorite movies from the past being remade. They did remake Carnival of souls. It was in 1998 and it has larry miller and shawnee smith. Wes craven was a producer so it's now "Wes Cravens Carnival of Souls" And it is loosely based on the original.

Re:Mediocre or some B Movies that You WOULD like to see ReMade
Yeah, I know they sort of made a remake of it, but I wasn't that impressed, of course I just about like anything that Wes Cravens has done. I guess I'd like to see the original done the same way but with better makeup, I actually think that's all it needs - maybe even a little more suspense in some parts. Okay, maybe we won't say REMADE, BUT how about some of your old favorite movies exactly the same as it is (same actors, special lighting, suspense) but what do you think it might need to improve on- you know, better makeup, better special effects, better acting, better lighting, etc. apostasy: They did remake Carnival of souls. I have a few that i would like to see done better (some of these have remakes but I think they missed the mark, so i want to see them try again.) 1. Flesh for the Beast 2. Halloween 3. Zombie (its fine the way it is but with todays technology, i think it could be better. Who wouldnt like to see the eye part look a little more real?) 4. Critters 5. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Re:Mediocre or some B Movies that You WOULD like to see ReMade
I have to disagree with a better Halloween, it doesn't need special effects or any more suspense and the acting is pretty good, so I don't see anything to improve with that movie. OR Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, it's suppose to be really bad so improving it would make it really REALLY bad. ha ha. I do agree that Flesh for the Beast could be a lot better, it was actually pretty good but I'd like to see it with a bigger budget and better film quality. I LOVE Critters, it's so cute and funny, I could see a little nip and tuck in that movie too. Zombie is now one of my favorite movies and the bad effects kind of give it it's "charm" but I could see an improvement with the eye scene, definately!! I also watched Motocross Zombie's from Hell and thought, this had some pretty good moments but I'd really like to see better makeup and a little better acting, a few good sex scenes and a little more zombie scenes, etc. But I enjoyed it. There are some Bad B movies that are really good and I think it would be a crime to try to make them better like Bikini Bloodbath - this movie is really funny (even though it was filled with naked women - I'm sure this is one of Gor's favorite movies) but it was hilarious and a lot of fun. I wouldn't change anything with that one or even Psycho Beach Party this was another really fun, good movie that needs no changing at all... apostasy: I have a few that i would like to see done better (some of these have remakes but I think they missed the mark, so i want to see them try again.) 1. Gee, Ms June, why would you say something like that? Actually, I have never seen, nor heard of this movie... but I have added it to my list of 'must-see' movies! Thanks!

Re:Mediocre or some B Movies that You WOULD like to see ReMade
[One movie I really like is an independent film called "Hunting Humans" It's about a serial killer(told from his POV) who is being stalked by another serial killer. a great story but the acting and effects look like something we could do on a computer in a week and a half. But it could be a great movie with some soild acting and money behind it. One remake trend I would like to see stopped is the j-horror remakes. Shutter looks good but the origional is so much better, The Ring is the same way. Ok off my soap box now.

Re:Mediocre or some B Movies that You WOULD like to see ReMade
I agree with you there, I think they have just about remade all the Asian horror movies out there (although I haven't seen Two Sisters remade yet, but I'm sure that is in the works). Was Shutter a movie from Thailand? I can't remember. But it was REALLY spooky. I also agree with you about both Ring movies 1 & 2, the Japanese versions were SOOOO much better, although I did love the American version of The Ring but the second one was HORRIBLE - it was totally forgettable, in my opinion - now the Japanese Ringu 2 was very good and very creepy, I really loved it. I just saw One Missed Call and thought the original was so much better and scarier, but I can go on and on and on too. jdice31:[One movie I really like is an independent film called "Hunting Humans" It's about a serial killer(told from his POV) who is being stalked by another serial killer. a great story but the acting and effects look like something we could do on a computer in a week and a half.
