A Very Special Day ...

Today is 1/22/08.   I noticed the Full Moon in the early morning sky on my way to work and suddenly I remembered!   Today is the 49th birthday of the best actress of the past several generations!   In my humble opinion, she is the most talented and stunningly beautiful actress in my lifetime!   That's right...   Linda Blair is 49 today.   Barely a year older than me, she has litterally been the object of my dreams ever since my first viewing of The Exorcist (!) at the age of 13 !     I guess you had to be there...

Anyhow, as a tribute to one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of all time and if I was going to be a 'stalker' she is the one I would pick,  I would like to present my list of my favorite Linda Blair movies, which means ALL of them that I have seen, in chronological order...

PS:  I will refrain from commenting on these movies (as much as I can) and let you look at the SPOUT reviews or the IMDB reviews in order to keep this as short as possible...   Let's just say that I would 'highly' recomend ALL of the movies on this list!   Those that are marked with a * at the end are EXTRA HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

   1.  The Exorcist  (1973) -   STILL the scariest movie ever made and a true masterpiece! **

   2.  Born Innocent   (1974:TV) -   This might have been the 'birth' of the modern 'women-in-prison' flick except filmed with underage girls!   Not that there is anything wrong with that...   **

   3 Airport '75   (1974) -  Great Movie!   I am shutting up now ...

   4.  Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic  (1975) -  a little too close to home...  *

   5Sweet Hostage  (1975:TV) *

   6.  Exorcist II : The Heretic  (1977) **

   7.  Stranger In Our House  (1978: Wes Craven!)  *

   8.  Ruckus  (1981) -  this one is kinda interesting because it appears to be a direct rip-off of  First Blood !   Until you realize that this one was actually made FIRST!  *

   9.  Hell Night   (1981) -  An EXCELLENT  'monster(s)-slashing-teenagers' movie that ranks right up there with the best of them...  **

 10.  Chained Heat  (1983) -  This is THE 'women-in-prison' movie by which all others are judged....   Linda Blair invented this art-form and perfected it!  **

 11.  Savage Streets   (1984) -  This is one fun movie!   When 'tough-girl' Linda Blair's little sister, (Linnea Quigly)is BRUTALLY beaten and gang-raped, Linda arms herself and goes out looking for revenge...  Linda Blair is semi-nude in the bathtub...   flashback to  'The Exorcist' ...   except a bit older so now it is OK ...  **

 12.

Re:A Very Special Day ...

Sorry.   My computer crashed.   Here is the rest of the list....   Best of Linda Blair continued...

   12.  Red Heat  (1985) -  No, this is NOT the Schwarzeneger/Belushi movie!   Linda is in prison yet again!  (You would think she would have learned her lesson by now!)   But this time it is in Russia!   Not to worry...  her mercenary boyfriend is working on a plan to bust her out ... *

   13.  Up Your Alley  (1988)

   14.  Witchery  (1988) -  What more can I say?  I will just let these last few movies speak for themselves....  *

   15.  Repossessed  (1990) *

   16Sorceress   (1995) *

Well, there you have it... my favorite Linda Blair movies based on what I have seen.    Happy Birthday Linda!   And I Love You!

It's hard to believe she is 49, she really hasn't changed in looks that much at all.

Hey Gor, is Stranger in our House the movie where her "cousin" comes to live with her family?  I watched that when I was in Jr. High school, I think 79 or so.  I remember I cried when her horse was killed.

She has made some excellent films.

Yep.  That's the one, Miss June.   A VERY good 'made-for-tv' movie from back in the day...  They don't make 'em like that anymore!

By the way, welcome back, Miss June!  You have been missed!   I wanted to tell you that I was watching a re-run of Johnny Carson's last 'Tonight Show' , The 'retirement-party' one, and Bette Midler. the Divine Miss M, was singing "One More For The Road" for Johnny, and realizing you are a singer, it suddenly occured to me where you got your name from!   Pretty Cool!

Re:A Very Special Day ...

Yes it was a pretty good made for TV movie.   For some reason that movie really stuck with me all these years.

And yes, that is where I got my name.  I really love Bette Midler, the Divine Ms M, I thought it fit me pretty well too.  hee hee.  But I don't consider myself a Diva like her, I'm pretty laid back with people.  They have started announcing me like that before I go up to sing at the Jazz clubs I sing at - The Divine Msss June - it just makes me giggle...it would probably be a good name for a drag queen too.
