LIVE July Musicals

If you are in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area, here are the musicals you can expect to see around town in the month of July.  If there are any musicals not currently listed that are in the West Michigan area (I only focused on Grand Rapids), please feel free to add them.  After all, this group celebrates the musical in all forms, not just in film.

We've already discussed the Fantasticks in a previous convo, but I'll repost the information here.

Heritage Theater

presents: THE FANTASTICKS (featuring our illustrious group leader, Ms_Maxwell)

The Fantasticks is playing at Spectrum Theatre throughout the summer. Shows are in the blackbox, which is on the second floor. (And you'll be just several feet from the performers no matter where you sit!)

Dates:
June 29 (opening)
July 7, 15, 23, 26, 27
August 4,5

All shows are at 8PM, except for Sundays, when they're at 3:00. Call 234.3358 to reserve your seats! (The blackbox only sits 50!)

Circle Theater

presents MOBY ***! THE MUSICAL (which is not at all about the whale, really)

July 20-22, 26-30, August 2-5

Circle Theatre
1607 Robinson Road (corner of Plymouth and Robinson)
Grand Rapids, MI 49506

Box Office: 456-6656 (Noon to 5 p.m. weekdays).
Business Office: 632-1980 (9-5 weekdays)

East Kentwood Alumni Performers (EKAP)

Re: LIVE July Musicals

Yeah...sorry to not-in-Michigan users.  If there are any musicals that you want to raise locally, we'd love to here about them.  I've a feeling that a lot of us have a) been in tons of musicals and like to hear about other productions; b) have seen lots of musicals and like to compare productions; or c) just love musicals and would like to know what's going on outside of our bailiwick.  Feel free to advertise!

BTW, the Clue musical that I am in is not like the Clue the movie.  It's campy and comedic, but the characters are not the same.  Don't let that stop you from seeing it (yeah, an extra plug because we're just a small theater company unlike one of the big 5 here in GR, including Heritage and Circle, so I have to keep saying come see it).

P.S. Happy 4th to all who celebrate it!

Sorry!  Clue is closed now, though I'm glad your interest was piqued.  Stay tuned, because a post will soon go up advertising live September musicals in the Grand Rapids area, including The Full Monty at Circle and A Chorus Line at Grand Rapids Civic.
