Film Choices
I appreciate the chance to be included here and believe me, this is a very tough subject for me. So many of the films I really like are, I am sure, completely loathed by some and vice versa. For instance I enjoy both It's a Wonderful Life ( and look forward to seeing it a billion times or more during the holiday season ) and Napolean Dynamite, but can fully accept them being labeled 'Totally Over-rated', but like them nevertheless. It is a little difficult to see 12 Monkeys ( I watch it a couple of times a year ) as over-rated for the specific and executed vision alone, but can understand the choice from the sense that some portions of the acting are over-the-top and maudlin or its remaking an idea better formed and executed in La Jette ( so see La Jette instead; better yet watch them both ).
I had made my mind up that I would not see Borat, but a friend visited; we did; we secured a pint of Crown; cracked that open and downed it during the film and proceeded to laugh until we were in tears. I am sure that will be added to the list of the Totally Over-rated, and perhaps, even by me.
I fully agree with Lord of the Rings and the Star Wars films ( well except, I love Jabba the Hut scenes, but that is because I love animated slugs!) although I have not seen all of them...I gave up.
