Gakuen Heaven
many others, but these are the main ones for right now. Anyone want to make any other recomendations? If you know any good 90's anime that are similar in style to Captain Tylor, I'd appreciate some ideas. ^_^

Re: What anime have you seen?

Alright cool.  Here's what I've seen.

Series:

Air Master
Berserk
Cowboy Bebop
The Eternity You Wish For
FLCL
Futari Ecchi
Green Green (OVA)
Green Green
Iketeru Futari
Love Hina
Outlaw Star
Popotan
Scryed
The Slayers

They are all pretty good.  Except for Scryed which is mediocre.  Favorites are probably Wolf's Rain, Air Master, Green Green, Berserk, Popotan.  Yeah you can tell I like a bit of ecchi.

Anime movies I've seen:

Akira
Castle in the Sky
Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heavens Door

Re: What anime have you seen?

Heh, i think everyone likes a bit of ecchi (or in some cases, ALOT xD)

Is the ova of Green Green the episode where they come up to visit the boys again in the winter? If it is then I should add that to my list as well.

One of my friends has been after me to watch Beserk lately. I probably will eventually once I get done with some other series.

I saw part of Scryed and I didn't really like it either, I never finished it. I also saw part of Wolf's Rain, but I borrowed the dvds from a friend, and since they didn't have the end of the series i never finished watching it. I would like to though, it's a really great series from what I've seen, and i know alot of people love it.

I'd never heard of Popotan before, but from reading the description on here it seems interesting. How long is the series? May need to add that to my list of anime to watch...

Re: What anime have you seen?

Yeah I think that's the plot of the Green Green OVA.

Berserk is actually the first entire anime series I ever watched on DVD.  The only other anime series I'd seen before that was The Slayers which I had watched all on downloaded video files.  I know some people who hate it just because of the way it ends.  It get's incredibly weird in just the last episode or two.  And the ending is rather abrupts and unsettling.  I guess what is the ending of the anime series was just a wild turning point in the manga, but not the actual end of the manga.  They never were able to make any more anime about the rest of the manga.  Still, an amazing series that I would recommend.

Wolf's Rain is HIGHLY recommended as well.  It may be my absolute favorite so far.

Popotan isn't too long.  Just 12 episodes I think.  I watched that one all on downloaded videos too.  That was before it came out on DVD.  At least, I believe it's on DVD now.  I'll probably end up watching it again some day.  It's just really sweet.

Have you ever been to the website http://www.animenfo.com  ?  It seems like the most comprehensive anime website and database I've been able to find on the web.  Let me know if you know of any site you think might be better.

Re: What anime have you seen?

I'd never been there before, but it seems like a pretty good site. For looking up information about series I like to use animenewsnetwork.com. Usually when I watch anime online I use youtube or crunchyroll.com because my computer can't really handle downloading all that stuff (plus i don't have a bittorrent player so most downloads I can't watch anyways.) I used to download off realitylapse.com, they're pretty good, that's where I first watched FMA and Chobits.

I think the first anime series I watched entirely on DVD was Utena. I watch most of my stuff online ^^;; The only series I own fully on dvd are Utena, FMA, Captain Tylor, and Please Teacher (though I watched FMA and Please Teacher online before buying them. Actually, I think you'd like Please Teacher alot if you watched it.)
I have most of DearS on dvd now, I just haven't gotten around to watching any of it ^^;; But I have alot of the series I've watched partially on dvd, plus I buy a ton of the merchandise, so it makes me feel better about watching them online ^^;;

Re: What anime have you seen?

I will throw up my list later today (Monday). But I just wanted to comment; I am not a fan of ecchi. In general, I think it can ruin a lot of anime. Granted, the stuff that it is supposed to have it, i.e. excel saga and popotan, the more power to it. However, I watch anime for the unique stories and humor. Ecchi just doesn't work into either of those categories. That is just my personal opinion, though. The only thing that came out of Popotan for me was an opening theme song that infected my brain. Almost to the point of *kaploey.* That is not a good thing, for me...

Sure that their are a few others that I am forgetting, but are not that important. I barely remembered Outlaw Star.

Movies that I have seen (no order as well):
Jin-roh
Escaflowne
Cowboy Bebop
Spirited Away
Samurai X
Dragonball Z: Tree of life

In general, I think most of the movies made buy the guy who brought us Akira are just okay, but overrated. And Advent Children should have been the first Final Fantasy movie that was brought stateside.

Read manga for Berserk, Ghost in the Shell, and Gundam: Blue Destiny

What could you possibly have done wrong?  Thanks for posting!

You said that Wolf's Rain was the 2nd series you saw.  That's one of my absolute favorite.  As the first one you saw that hooked you, would you say that Inuyasha is one of your absolute favorites?  I've seen images of that main character all over the place, but I really don't have any idea of the story or the feel of the series.  It's not really kiddy like Pokemon is it?

Re: What anime have you seen?

Well the amount of anime for me is limited inless I actually look for it (internet downloading) and I wouldn't say Inuyasha is kiddy but their are some way better series out their. The reason why I got hooked on anime isn't because of the series Inuyasha itself but more because I enjoy how it was different from normal cartoons that I'd see on tv and how just the look and feel of anime gave me.  I also wanted to watch other stuff like it and so went searching on the web to see what I could find if I coulld find something better and I did that was Wolf's Rain and that drove me to look more and so on...

So Inuyasha isn't my favourit because after watching it I got hooked on anime, but more because it got me interrested in a new t ype of show which led me to pursue more series like it (anime) and thats why I fell in love with anime not so much because of Inuyasha itself.

I don't think its kiddy like pokemon but it is sorta at that level. What I mean is that compared to other series it can seem a little tame at times but I find it to resemble more like Kiba not as good but still the idea that the main "hero" isn't the typical kind of  hero (not as good ) and it also has a bit more of a love that will never happen with the character Kagome (who fights for Inuyasha's love against Kykyo Inuyasha's previous lover) so it has more substance then Pokemon consisting of a more romance and action aswell their is a goal to it which is to defeat Naraku so in that sence its better then Pokemon. But it's still doesn't compare to some of the other anime series out there.

Hope that answered your questions k
