Bleach

Hey yah,

Just finished episode 120 of bleach the other day.  Definitely B.A. And I really enjoyed the twists that the series had to offer.  However, the very end of the episode made me feel like a sad panda.  I don't like how they develop some stupid technique just to fight more powerful enemies.

Sometimes I wonder if all series that run this long are just some stupid variation of dragonball.  And a stupid variation of something stupid does not equal something f***'n metal.

Um, seven.

Re: Bleach

I actually quit watching around epsidoe 90 because of the Bonto (Vampire) story arc. They just get done fighting the most powerful bad guys in the show and all of a sudden there are more powerful bad guys (that by the way we have never heard of or have never shown themselves in the previous 80 some episodes).

I totally agree! I fell in love with this show at first but now I feel like the bad guys will just keep getting stronger and Ichigo will just power up some more. What saga will be next, LOL.

I did hear that the Bonto (Vampires) were'nt in the Manga.

They do just keep getting more powerful. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a fluff anime, lacking in substance but making up for in superficial entertainment value. For me, it is a carry over series until I can find something more substantial. Until then, I guess I will enjoy it as best I can. The Bonto stuff was really bad. ...Especially the music.......and the Bonto.

Re: Bleach

I realize the series has run of course so much but what do you expect they must be running out of ideals since the series so long.

I don't see this so much as another dragonball but more a variation of naruto. Mostly because the whole Bounto thing was a really long side story that was technally about Ichigo getting stronger nothing else.So I agree that it was a waste.

However they're back on track and I'm happy about that I mean ever since Ichigo's inner Hollow entered the picture I've been anticipating the part were Ichigo would have to face It (hollow) and that part has finally come.

So although the series does stray of topic more often then not their are some good episodes and it's worth watching I mean the plot is still good and I don't think you'll find any good adventure, fighting series that don't have the main character getting stronger and fighting stronger oponents. If you do I bet their only 25- episodes and lack suspence.

So I do get your point but i don't think a person can truly judge a series especially this kind on the fact that it sometimes goes off track. But of course this is my opinion alone and I do like Bleach so forgive me if I afend you.

You should start watching again...the bounto arc is over...it's about Aizen again...really good stuff!

Re: Bleach

sometimes they take so long to get to the point but this is a huge hit over in japan and they watch it by the millions and if they didnt come up with new ideas to spark the show they would be losing money the main reason that they make shows go on for so long is cause some people watch it and they make some good money off of it.

I dont mind it i like it and i can get hooked to it but sometimes they seem to go on like a neverending story and i think it is almost about time to kill the series.

And on some of the opening videos you see some characters that you never evenr got to meet the whole time.

Re: Bleach

I think that sometimes they should just give up on making series to long. Its true that alot of people watch it but if they continue on like this with only fillers and this ov er used plot about strong oponents appearing and Ichigo simply getting stronger they'll lose the majority of the viewers. One way I think that they can help keep the ratings up is to make movies to go along with the series that dont have anything to do with the original plot like when they started going about the Bounto (sorry if I wrote it wrong)  it would have made a good movie because it has nothing to do with the original plot and I think it was a waste to put it in the series because it seemed annoying to me atleast. Another thing about money I find that shorter series might not do as good when it comes to ratings on the tv because it doesn't last very long but when they put them out on DVD people who do like the series will buy it unlike with long series such as bleach. Since you'd have to be a huge fan to be willing to spend hundreds+ on the entire series and if they do stop the series people might want to buy some of the DVD for episodes that they liked or missed. In addition if they had movies for bleach (not counting the 1 they have coming out ...or it might already be out) they'd sell without a doubt.

Oh and about the characters in the opening that are unknown I think that it might just be a form a foreshadowing that they are using to give viewers a sense of anticipation to whats going to come next in the series and to give it a bit of mystery since alot that they do is a given (in my opinion so please dont take to heart).

thanks for listenning (or reading as the case may be)

Re: Bleach

I've only just started getting interested in Bleach, but it seems to be a character - based plot rather than a story -based plot, which is why it takes so long to get from point A to point B, and the characters spend most of the show talking and/ or training. though as I said I've only just started watching Bleach, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you.

Just please try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, I like to find things out the slow way - the VERY slow way -  in Bleach's case. o_O

Re: Bleach

It is sad, but it is merely an example of Japanese studios marketing their anime in preperation for American subbing as, frankly, there may very well be more anime fans in america then in Japan, dont quote me on that.

With this in mind and knowing that aside from Pokemon and perhaps YugiOh, Dragon Ball Z was the most successful and well known anime in America, certainly among the older generations.  It stands to reason that by following the same format you could by chance create a mega hit.

Dont get me wrong, I am a huge Bleach fan, and I love the series, despite its faults.  Also for those of you still following, yes the Bounto were not in the manga, but any person who has watched anime should expect to see filler occassionally.  Its simple, episodes equate to about 4 manga chapters so the creators have two options.  Create a filler to pad the spacing between the two story arcs or drag things out in every episode.  Which do you hate more, if you hate both, take my friends Dave's advice and just dont watch any anime over 26 episodes.

Frankly, in comparison to say Naruto, Bleach has stayed away from really ruining the series with fillers and has remained for the most part very true to the manga.  The upcoming story arc with Aizen and the Aranacars promises to be exceptional, and it will be if it follows the manga.

I will only start to take issue with, after Aizen is defeated, whether they will continue.  For this type of anime their success will rely on creating a new more powerful villian for the characters to pursue and how ridiculious the situation is created around the new villan.

Pray bleach fans, they end the series after Aizen - it would make the most sense.  Ill stop watching if they dont
