Naruto Shippuuden (new series) and suggestions for must see anime
Umm well lets see... I guess my discussion to start is about must see anime series and well the new Naruto Shippuuden so if you have any comments post I guess. I think if you like kinda the underdog guy becoming a kind of hero watch Kiba if you like puzzle series and suspence watch spiral Death Note (ongoing) if your more into the love kind then Gakuen Heaven (be aware it's 2 boys) Suzuka if you like twisted humour then Dokuro-chan (humourous about death) Okay and about Naruto Shippuuden (sorry if i spelled it wrong) I think they did something not seen much and that was to change the appearaence of tyhe characters and to have a bit of mystery behind the training Naruto went through which makes it suspensful because I personaly can't wait to see what kind of cool new stuff Naruto learned and what kind of tricks he has up his sleeves. It was a good idea in my opinion to start a fresh new series because the 220 episodes series was sorta dragging on the series and it was losing its interest so i give props to whoever thought up this idea because I personally think it worked out great. It once again has a fresh outlook and excitement back in which it had lost. okay well thats all I'm going to say hope to have some responses and would like to hear your opinions I mean because of my unsociable personality (face to face) and no one to talk to about this stuff (my few friends don't care for anime. Hard to believe but yes) so maybe I'll have better luck on this anime lovers discussion thing so see ya

Re: Naruto Shippuuden (new series) and suggestions for must see anime
Some anime I would say are "must see" would be Fullmetal Alchemist, Revolutionary Girl Utena, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Ouran Highschool Host Club, and Suzumiya Haruhi. Also, any of Studio Ghibli's movies. Death Note is amazing, but I would recommend reading the manga instead of watching the anime. The anime has been disappointing me lately. Some "must read" mangas would be Death Note(of course), Fullmetal Alchemist, Marmalde Boy, Paradise Kiss, Bastard, and Hana-Kimi Keep in mind that my "must see/read" lists pretty much just consist of my favorite anime, and don't necessarily represent a well-rounded view of anime, or the best and most popular series. ^^;;

Re: Naruto shippuden series
I really enjoyed Utawarerumono. In the current season I was watching Darker than Black. It is really interesting so far. Ergo Proxy was pretty good up to a certain point, but then I lost interest for some reason. If you haven't watched Samurai Champloo that is a really fun series. :) I'll stop there now heheh.

Re: Naruto shippuden series
mmm Utawareumono was very good, at least until the end when it fell apart. But given that its based on an H game it was a truely refreshing anime which some awesome character development and good story again, up until the end when it tried to be like Eva and came out looking retarded. Regarding Shipuuden; most of my friends gave up on Naruto when they butchered the original series with all those fillers. I stuck with it and while I am impressed with SOME of the fighting in Shippuden, I am getting really sick of it going DBZ style. For example, the fight with Chiyo Baa and Sakura vs Sasori has been going on for almost 10 episodes when in reality the amount of fighting could be condensed easily to 2 or three episodes. Meanwhile, Naruto and Kakeshi have been chasing the other Akatuski guy through what has got to be the LONGEST canyon in history for 10 friggin episodes, i mean come on. The shadow fights of the other Ninjas are good as well, but i mean still 10 friggin episodes. Not that I dont like seeing how much the characters have developed in three years, but come on. People are still pissed about the old series, dont think many arent sitting on the fence watching this one

Re: Naruto shippuden series
Yeah Uta's ending was somewhat of a letdown. I'm not sure that I would compare it with NGE, but to each his own. I haven't been watching Shipuuden lately - no computer to do it on reliably atm. I stuck with Naruto through all of the stupid fillers as well. Some of them were actually kind of fun, plus I was enjoying the new op video/music. :) It is a sad fact that the people producing the show don't seem to understand how to pull in the reins with certain things, but I think that has more to do with a cultural difference. To them it might seem perfectly acceptable to drag things out the way that they are, but to us, it is a huge waste of time because we like things to move along and get to the point. Granted there are extremes - series that are too short and don't really explain what is happening/leave the viewers in the dark searching for answers - and series that are like a horse that has been bludgeoned to death, but just to make sure it's dead we're going to drag it for 100 miles along really rough terrain at 100 mph. Hopefully Shipuuden gets reined in for the sake of the viewers.

Re: Naruto shippuden series
i really liked naruto but i can't trust that little ninja anymore. i just don't know if he is going to trick me with more fillers again. hopefully it picks up agaiin.... one anime i was taken by suprise by was blood+. the first couple of episodes dragged on and on, but once it gets deep into the story line you don't want to strangle the main characters anymore. instead you get really caught up in the love triangles, battle sequences,monsters, and mysteries. it's only a 50 episode long series but that means no fillers (yay!) and pretty fast paced action. i mean, there's blood in nearly every episode so that counts for something.... probably hence the name blood+..... man im deep.... anywhooo.... other animes i love: death note, bleach, trinity blood, ghost in the shell, samurai champloo, and full metal alchemist.

Re: Naruto Shippuuden (new series) and suggestions for must see anime
"Esca Flowne" - for an outter worldly experience that has romance, fights, giant robots, and loads of twists and turns in the story-line which helps for great charactor relations and gets you pretty well drawn in. "Rune Soldier" - a bit of perverted comedy to make you smile and giggle with funny spirited charactors, and the ending of this show was satisfying enough to make me not go "Grr!". "This Beautiful Yet Ugly World" - for a heart warming classic story about the end of the world and strong free will.

Yeah I watched most of blood+ but somehow I became unenamored by the girl's inability to grasp her abilities. If that makes sense. I suppose I just get impatient with the seeming incompetence of heroes/heroines in some of these series, which is definitely just pretense and a lame excuse to make the viewer wait for some overhyped moment of epiphany. I believe Blood+ was based loosely on the movie Blood: The Last Vampire (or something like that) I enjoyed that movie quite a bit actually. Anyway Blood+ wasn't a bad series, but it definitely had some weak points, it was just easier to overlook them if you're not some anime monger like me.
