Where to watch free movies
The digital revolution is rushing at us again. The desire to convince us to watch films streaming off the web has led some vendors to provide free movies to entice you to their service. For us that means free movies! Yay! Check out CinemaNow and others and post your own finds here as well.

Re: Where to watch free movies
This is a fascinating time for film... it only makes since that it would move here, but it's still going to be a leap for me to make. I thought that buying music online would never take off... I remember when They Might Be Giants released one of their new albums only on their website and it bombed terribly, no one bought it. I thought "crap! I hope other bands don't go this way, no one will know how to get ahold of the music, AND no one will listen to it away from their computers."
Well, damn was I wrong. Damn wrong. What am I doing right now? Listening to mp4s of a film soundtrack...
So this leads to what? People watching films on their iPods and PSPs right? Well, they just don't have that big screen, emersive, feel to them yet, they're great to have on a plane or watch when you're stuck in a train station... but films require a lot of attention. I like to relax, lounge on the couch and sink into a film in my dark livingroom, and having to hold your PSP upright for an hour and a half without you wrists giving out, and not bump the "next chapter" button is quite a task. There's also that really weird guy sitting next to you coughing and staring over your shoulder while you try to watch your favorite scene in "Risky Business"... not quite the same.
So this leaves people with the desire to watch films on their computers. But there's the need for systems with longer battery lives (so you're not tied to the length of their short power cord) better sound systems, better resolution films, OR short films?
Release files of award winning short films, and I'll watch those while waiting for the bus or train... or great tv series, right? Compress them so they are easy to download, but are not total crap quality, and I'll bite.
I'll test these out, I'm going to download Southpark from iTunes, I'll try it, but I'm not sold yet, show me that it's better, and I'll bite.

Re: Where to watch free movies
There are currently a few websites where you can watch every episode of south park for free. Try ALLSP.COM or ALLABOUTSP.COM.

A bit off-topic....Ah! Small Wonders? I haven't thought about that show in the longest time!

Re: Where to watch free movies
I came across www.hulu.com which has a bunch of free movies you can watch streaming online. They are interrupted by ads every once in a while but other than that are totally free. There are some good titles like Requiem for a Dream, Mulholland Drive and Some Like It Hot, as well as a lot of obscure titles. I think it's worth a look. Also, I don't know if others do this, but I check out a lot of movies at my local library which are free. They have long waiting lists for new releases, but they have a lot of classics, too.

Re:Where to watch free movies
Someone told me about: www.cflix.net
its a pretty good site...and its free. It was a bit tricky to figure out how to watch the movies on a wide screen, but finally found the button under the video screen.
i hope this helps.
