Netflix
So if you really love films, chances are you're a customer of Netflix. I know Davis has hit the limit of films he can put in his queue and Kfiddle is a junkie for the red pill. (Incidentally, ever notice how nobody expresses such sentiment for their blue competition?)
What are your ideas about how to integrate Spout with the things you love to do on Netflix?

Re: Netflix
This would require quite a bit of integration with the netflix database, so it's probably more dream than reality, but importing in the list of movies i've already rated (with the rating?) would make it a lot easier to build the list of movies i've seen

Re: Netflix
I agree with you. It would make it a lot easier to build lists that way. I know a few people have suggested this and nothing would make me happier than to wave my magic wand and make that happen.
If only I had a magic wand..hmmmm :)

Re: Netflix
What would also be great is if you could click, "I want to see it" and have an option to "Add to my Netflix Queue" That would be beautiful...

Re: Netflix
Hi Paul,
I am a Netflix junkie...i have two accounts with 500 on each queue everyday...and thousands waiting to be added to my queues. Netflix is always making great improvements to their side but until there is a merge, what would make it easier for Spout people is to have the movies separated into categories here. You can print the queue from Netflix and then work at putting your movies in Spout quicker.

Re: Netflix
What kind of cateogories could we separate films into?
Things like documentary, romance, etc.? Or like 5 star, 4 star, etc.? Or categories like Netflix movies I've rated, My Netflix queue, etc.?

Re: Netflix
Paul,
Have you contacted NetFlix to see if they webservices setup that can be tied into? If Netflix does, this would be a great way to get data from them and blending it in with Spout.

Re: Netflix
Alas,
The old award winning customer care department at Netflix is pretty slow in responding to my questions like, "Do you have a way of exporting an XML bundle of the movies I've rated?" (By "pretty slow" I mean I never heard back from them.) Obviously, we'd love to import movies you've rated on Netflix, but they keep that data under lock and key.
What you can get from Netflix are RSS feeds available here.
The question is would you really want an automatic list on spout.com of the movies you've recently rented or what's currently in your queue?

Both perferably. We could aways offer free advertising space or linking to them. Some sort of accomodations to allow us to get that data.

Re: Netflix
What do we think about the new features we've added to both the film detail (see left-hand column) and MovieMind?
