Things I would like to do

I would like to be able to send all the members of my group an email - all of them, at once.  Is that possible now?

Hey Jenn!
Nope, its not possible right now, but I will bring this up in our meeting tomorrow. I was actually just thinking about that myself over the weekend!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Anyone else like this idea??

I think messaging members of your group is essential. In trying to notify people in the GR movies and happenings group about a movie I wanted to see, that was the first problem I ran into.  Thanks for reinforcing the importance of this feature.

Re: Things I would like to do

When I am viewing or participating in a group discussion, I would like a link to be able to get back to my group page without having to go all the way back to my list of groups, then re-select the group, etc. It would also be nice to have links for "previous" and "next" while viewing messages in your inbox rather than having to go back to the inbox and select the next new message. I think that those are my only grievances currently - otherwise, I am very much enjoying the redesign.

i-heart-art,

All I can say is I agree completely. What you're hurting for in groups is a part of the redesign we're catching up to. It's called a breadcrumb trail, a series of links at the top of the page so you can easily dive down into a discussion then come back up. The breadcrumb trail went away when we launched the new site and we're working on a way to fix that problem.

I also think the private messaging will some day get outfitted with more email-ish functionality. I believe it's waiting in line right now since you and I are probably the only people who use private messages on Spout daily to talk with people.

Anyone else out there using private messages like they're your gmail account?

Re: Things I would like to do

Perhaps the wrong place to place this question, but I wonder if there is a simple way to correct formatting in the 'Review/Blog/Group posts? I found first, that I could not linger very long over a Blog posting without the post hanging up and then losing the entire post, so I started just composing off-line in a 'Word' document format and then when 'good n' ready'  pasting that into the Blog Post.

Ok, So I solved that problem of having to redo a post in progress, but now since I like to add photos, bits and pieces from other locations, and all sorts of other items to my posts, I place these in the Word doc. and then paste it all into the Blog Post, the resultant format  when the post goes 'live' is ghastly, so then I have to hop on to 'edit' and rework most items, especially spacing and lines and if lines are added for separation, the lines then become double spaced, since every thing comes together without the line spacing once initially entered and posted.

Any thoughts besides 'go on now, get, get the hell off this site, if you don't like the automatic formatting we provide for you...'

just interested. It seemed like 'mattypro' had a format issue with one of his recent Meme group postings too...

Puhnner, I do pretty much the exact same thing as you and have had the exact same problems.  Even when I have to go in and edit the html directly sometimes it doesn't react correctly and stay that way.  What I actually have to do is write stuff out in the actual field and then copy the source html and past it into a word document.  Then I do the opposite to put it back again.

Re: Things I would like to do; Group discussion Postings

Ugh, not only do I have to worry and fret about putting down my thoughts, but I need to go back and forth...I have got to figure out a better way.

Another thing that is irritating, only because I feel I have missed something, is that even though a member of a group, unless I post on the group discussion postings, I need to return to the group to see if there are 'new' discussions that I want to enable email subscriptions, seems like that could be made automatic that once in a group, a member is automatically subscribed to all the discussions as they come up....

well just a thought

I don't know whether this has been requested before, but I would like to be able to add movies to my lists by sending a text message from my cell-phone. Facebook.com has a similar feature where I can add notes to my wall by sending a text message to a certain number, which then recognizes my account and posts the note appropriately.

Similarly, I would like to be able to text "Evan Almighty 3 stars", which would then rate this movie in my account without any further interactions... I watch most of my movies during weekends, so Monday is usually "catch-up day" to tag everything on spout.com. It would be great to be able to do this remotely and on the go!

Wow!  Now that would be something.  That's multitasking for today's world I guess.
