Why are lame versions the only ones available to add to my list?

So, I started searching for movies to add to my fave list & was underwhelmed by the results.

examples:

King Kong ( 1933 ): the only one pictured is some old version - where is the 2 disc collector's edition?

Night of the Living Dead ( 1968 ): some cheap ass version pictured - where's millennium edition?

Metropolis ( 1927 ) : again with cheap-ass - where is the restored authorized Kino edition?

For a site that's all about movies, it seems that there's alot of room to take it up a notch - especially when it comes to " the classics".

The movie listings are just for the films themselves.  There aren't separate entries for all of the different home video releases.  There are thousands of movies in the database that haven't ever even been released on DVD.  Whether the graphic pictured is from the cover a special edition DVD release or just some old poster, the movie page is going to have the same content because it's about the movie itself.

Even so you would think Spout would benefit by interfacing more heavily with vendors who are carrying the latest versions of such "classic" films. The content might be the same, but you can bet your ass I won't be finding a copy of the 1933 King Kong on vhs on netflix, maybe ebay though. :0 There's a though lol. Tie into ebay's listings when you search for a movie heh.
