Lost Highway Never Finds It's Way

I never thought that I'd ever be taking a David Lynch film to Worst Movie Ever court, but Lost Highway has to be one of the worst films I think I've ever seen.  I've never seen a movie where there have been this many pauses before.  Every scene was shot as if it was that pivotal moment in the film and instead of adding to the tension, it got old.  The entire movie was like being in a bad dream.  The characters seemed to change roles at will and I could never get a sense of where events were suppose to be occuring within the storyline.  In the end there was no plot, no message and no entertainment.  This one is definetely guilty of being a movie that you should not rent.

Hmmm. I actually really liked this movie. Granted I didn't fully understand what was going on the first time I watched the movie, it made me think about it for weeks to come; few movies do that.

Re: Lost Highway Never Finds It's Way

I really think that David Lynch does it on purpose.  I have always wondered if he has a goal when he starts doing something, because most of his movies wander from being tight to meandering all over the place.  I just know that sometimes he puts in a curve ball from left field that even he has not wrapped his head around just to shake things up.  Lost Highway does do a good job with tone, but ... yeah I got lost and never bothered to rent the movie again.
