Tokyo Drift

Common! Are you SERIOUS? I thought FATF was the worst movie of all time. Didn't see the second of the series. But a third? To be honest, if I was a film executive, I too would greenlight this piece of crap just to make some cash. But because I am not a film executive, this will be, on the record, the worst film ever!

Oh yes, want to find something absolutely atrociously amusing? Watch the new Nicholas Cage trailer. I think its called Ghost Rider.

Re: Tokyo Drift

I only saw the first Fast and the Furious, but agree that this movie did not need to be made.  It reminds me a lot of Mission Impossible 3, you can just tell that they only made this because they could do it cheap and they wanted to make a quick buck.  Not that there is anything wrong with wanting to make money, but with the FATF being as bad as it is, you can just tell it's over hyped.

Re: Tokyo Drift

I am actually interested in this if for one reason. I love drift racing games like Ridge Racer. They are really fun. And I will likely Netflix this knowing it will be awful. But I do love bad movies. Not because I think they are good, but because I think there is something charming about a really really bad movie.

I really enjoyed the trailer for Tokyo Drift. It's kind of like making fun of synchronized swimming. But if you get it in small,  highlighted doses, it can be really amazing.

Sometimes, the trailer's the best part of the film. All the eye candy, none of the painfully thin plot. And I'm almost positive that's what you'll find with the feature version of Tokyo Drift.

Re: Tokyo Drift

After the first 2 Fast 2 Furious on video I vowed never to watch one of those again.  I am not going to see Tokyo Drift, and I would fight if someone tried to make me.

You know, if you watch the FnF trilogy for anything other than pimped out rides and scantley cladded woman, then you will not like the films.   Sure they are easily picked apart, maybe it's the acting or more importantly the film writing.  I've never seen anyone downshift while going fast in a straight line during a drag race.   But that doesn't remove the entertainment value.  I liked the racing sceens.  Even the way over the top CGI bridge jumping sceen (2F2F).   The drifting sceens were nice and were not done with CGI (95% were actual driving scenes).  Rays Millen and his crew did a phenominal job in displaying drifting abilities.

So basically, if you want to see nice looking cars, GREAT drifting scenes (there should have been more), hot asian chicks, and a bastard fastback Mustang.  Then watch the movie.   If you are wanting a mentally simulating evening that makes you think about life, then go rent something else.
