My bits are visible in the director's cut of "Scream Farm;" but the scene was trimmed for the retail version. A friend made a copy of the deleted scene to share online. However, reality says that no one really wants to see my nude zombie scene.

I've talked with my girlfriend about nudity in films, not specifically horror albeit, and she had an interesting perspective on it. She told me to my surprise that she and most women she knows think that the sexiest part of a guy is above the waist... seeing the actual genetalia doesn't really do much for them... whereas with guys I think I can safely say that we're turned on by the sight of ANY skin. Even an elbow! ;-)

I to am a big fan of Female Nudity in Horror movies. One of my favorite Directors is Jim Wynorski and a classic he made for me is called Sorority House Massacre Part 2 Nighty Night Mare. It has5 bodacious babes who wear the slinkiest lingerie and I believe their may be a plot in this movie. One of Joe Bob's best breast movies and rumor has it that it actually made some money that Wynorski was able to make "Hard to Die". Other classics such as the Bare Wench movies and the Witches of Breastwick are faves. A close second to Sorority in a movie called "The Mummy's KISS and the Mummy's kiss 2.

You know, I had watched Sleep Away camp again, it's been quite a few years since I've seen it and I was thinking there was a lot of nudity and sex in this movie and there was nothing (except for that one shot at the end which still kind of makes me laugh). I was shocked because I remembered it being very risque and sexual but it had inuendo but that was it basically. Now I think Sleepaway Camp II and III had quite a bit of nudity.

   One of the staples of many great Horror Films has been 'gratuitous female nudity'...   So what was the best?

   There have always been certain 'scream queens' who, it would seem, love to get naked at every opportunity!   You can check out every inch of Misty Mundae in several movies like "Screaming Dead".   Or Nastassja Kinski in "To The Devil, A Daughter" and others.   I would be 'hard' pressed (Iknow...groan) to call "Hard To Die" a 'horror' movie... it is more of a 'gratuitous-female-nudity' movie!   You get the idea...

   I think, for me, the winner would be... "ZOMBIE" !   (this movie just keeps 'popping up' in here... I know... groan again...)

   I know this is mostly one for the guys, but let me know what you think...

My favorite scene with nudity, although it isn't horror, is in Wild Things. The movie itself was alright. When Denise Richards is topless, all troubles seem to go away.

I just wanted to mention a couple of non-horror titles for the ladies... Frank Langella has a brief but memorable full frontal nude scene in "Lolita" (1997). That scene made me feel a lot better about myself... Also, that movie was HIGHLY controversial in other ways! I LOVED it! ... Also, in "Boogie Nights" ('97), in the infamous 'miiror scene' at the end of the movie , Mark Wahlberg's penis was a prosthesis. ... If you ladies would like to see SOMETHING, you must check out the infamous Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee sex tape...

Back to the original question of faves, I'd have to go with Soledad Miranda in VAMPYROS LESBOS and Edwiche Fenech in just about any movie, especially Gialli she is in (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK, etc.).

In one way, like someone else stated, it is desensitization, also sales are a key issue. The original ideal behind male vs female nudity becoming such an inbalance however has to do with working around original MPAA rules in the 70's. Nudity was okay in R rated films, brief nudity in PG, etc. but the rule specifically by the MPAA to retain an R rather than an X rating had to do with whether the film showed actual genetalia. Unfortunately, male genetalia hangs on the outside. LOL! If you look back at most films with female nudity, you see pubic hair but not the actual female genitalia. It was a way directors could push the envelope in exploitation without cuts or the dreaded X rating which killed them in U.S. Box offices. Sometimes, it's rare actual genetalia is exposed and okayed by the MPAA like lying in a hospital bed (28 Days Later) or someone dead on a slab because it is clearly non sexual.

I found the comments interesting so I am resurrecting this thread. I recently did a film, "Scream Farm," which should hit the stores July 7. In the ending credits, I am listed as 'nude zombie.' An appropriate name, since I was. However, the eventual distributor opted to cut part of my image so the viewers would not see me below my waist. They believed the full frontal nudity would injure retail sales. The director and I both disagreed, but since the idea of making a film is to make money and get it to market, the director accepted the trimming (with my blessings).

Do you think the distributor was correct in saying full frontal male nudity would hurt retail sales?

I love the classic horror movie nudity like in Halloween the girl with the pigtails and the really dorky boyfriend who gets stabbed and bolted to the door.

Yeah, you're right. You hardly ever see frontal male nudity in horror movies, or most other movies, for that matter. And when it's there, it's usually not very good. Prone forms lying asleep in hospitals or dead on a table, that sort of thing. I think as a culture we've become kind of desensitized to female nudity in films. There's been so much of it that when it pops up in a movie now, it's not nearly as shocking as it used to be. I say it's time someone pushed the envelope a little and tried something new.

It seems like the only time we get to see men naked in horror movies is when something is about to get chopped off. OR if it's a bloody, dirty, torn up zombie walking around. I don't even think Matthew McConaughey took his shirt off in Frailty and he ALWAYS has his shirt off. Just not fair. lol.
Well, I do have to say that the woman on the boat in Zombie had a pretty flawless body (bitch - hee hee) but she didn't have very big boobs, so that evened it out. I can't think of any others, maybe because I was ROLLING my eyes every time a woman is running naked through these movies. ha ha. oh well...I say EQUAL RIGHTS FOR MEN!!!

I recently rewatched "Cat People" after several years and I had forgotten what a good movie this is! This is the 1982 'remake' version (actually a 'reinvention') of the classic Val Lewton movie from 1942. This is actually a GREAT Horror Movie and probably much underrated! Starring Nastasja Kinski and Malcolm McDowell as brother and sister 'cat people' and directed by Paul Schrader from a script by Alan Ormsby (of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead things" fame!), this film pretty much rocks! The story is very simple and straight-forward and the acting is very good and there are at least a couple fairly gory scenes with the best one being Ed Begley Jr. getting his arm ripped off at the shoulder and then bleeding to death...

Oh yeah... There is some nudity in this movie as well! There are a few shots of Annette O'Toole's magnificent breasts as well as (of course) the beautiful Nastasja showing off every inch of her lovely body on SEVERAL occasions...

Needless to say, for those who haven't seen it, this one comes HIGHLY recomended by 'The Doctor'... I can write you a prescription if you wish...

In "Zombie", besides 'Ms Perfect Body' on the boat, there is also the Doctor's wife in one of the better shower scenes i have seen... shortly before her untimely demise...

Yes, June, you are entirely correct about the inequality of female vs. male nude scenes in MOST movies! Not just Horror! I think there is a very good reason for this! Charlton Heston is NEARLY naked throughout MOST of "Planet Of The Apes" but, other than that, I cannot think of too many examples!

I CAN, however, think of some more memorable female nude scenes in Horror films! (imagine that!)... I wanted to mention when 'Annie' flashes her boobs at 'Michael' in "Halloween" as well as the extensive 'shower/lockeroom' opening scene in "Carrie"... THIS one probably HAS to be the BEST! Although it is not really 'gratuitous'... as this scene is quite important to the overall story! And it is depicted pretty much as described in the novel... But STILL... Nancy Allen is pretty 'yummy'! And a lockeroom full of naked 'teenage' girls 'frolicking' about is, well 'memorable' to say the least... I wonder how many takes Brian DePalma had to do to get this one?
