And yes Rizzo, you reminded me that one of my Top 20 (Out of the Past) has a love triangle. I thought of another one I really like -- Swing Kids.
Re:New Movies 11/14. I've been looking forward to Quantum of Solace since the credits rolled on Casino Royale! That's my favorite Bond movie, and I think Daniel Craig knocks the lining out of all the other Bond actors. How about you guys? Favorite 007 movies?

2. A Christmas Tale (Un Conte de Noel) -- Read Karina's review. Karina makes this sound a bit like a Christmas edition of The Royal Tenenbaums, only with twice the guts.

By the way, Quantum of Solace and A Christmas Tale both star Mathieu Amalric, who was excellent in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

I guess nobody in Hollywood wanted to compete with James Bond, because the rest of the films are either foreign (like A Christmas Tale), independent, or documentary films:

3. The Dukes -- A desperate, once-popular doo-wop group plans a bank heist. One of the stars is director Peter Bogdanovich. Sounds pretty interesting, but I'll be surprised if it comes to my town.

4. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas -- Watch the trailer. Set in WWII, based on a novel about a friendship between an 8-year old German boy and a Jewish concentration camp prisoner.

Wow, does this next film sound dark or what:

5. House of the Sleeping Beauties -- German film. A house of prostitution specializes in providing beautiful young girls for the pleasure of lonely old men (60+ years of age). The girls are sedated before you-know-what, so they never meet their "clients." When one elderly client believes he witnesses a murder, he has to decide whether or not to go to the authorities.

6. Fields of Fuel -- Documentary explores the US's attachment to fossil fuels.

7. Antarctica -- Watch the trailer. An Israeli film about the complicated romances among a group of young homosexuals

8. The Beautiful Truth -- Watch the trailer. Documentary. When a 15-year-old boy's mother dies of cancer, he chooses to research a writer's claim that his unique diet cures cancer.

9. Faded Memories -- Watch the trailer. Psychological thriller about a teenage girl who's healed through romantic love. Ho hum. I'll give the writer/director credit though; Anne-Sophie Dutoit is only 16 years old.

10. Dostana -- Indian film. Two men are chasing after the same woman, but when they pretend they're gay lovers (to avoid problems with immigration or something), etc., etc.

Love triangle movies aren't really my thing. I did enjoy Bridget Jones' Diary more than I expected to, but mostly because I liked Colin Firth's character.
