I was going to edit it, but I thought I would leave the link. Spinal Tap is a streach I admit, but what the hell, I turned it up to 11:-)Re: Top 5 Movies About Making Movieshttp://www.spout.com/groups/Top_5/Re_Top_5_Movies_About_Making_Movies/190/18551/1/ShowPost.aspxWed, 22 Aug 2007 19:43:08 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:18551tmoney9actually, 8 1/2 has been mentioned a couple of times. And I would say Spinal Tap is not about making movies, it is about a band, and happens to have some "movie making" worked into it, but thats not what its about. but thats just my opinion. welcome to spout, ovation!Re: Top 5 Movies About Making Movieshttp://www.spout.com/groups/Top_5/Re_Top_5_Movies_About_Making_Movies/190/18512/1/ShowPost.aspxWed, 22 Aug 2007 02:52:29 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:18512Ovation9
A few not mentioned here:

8 1/2 (edit: already discussed)

The Stunt Man

Swimming with Sharks

Boogie Nights

The Blair Witch Project

<a href="http://www.spout.com/films/149648/default.aspx" title="Cecil B. Some tangential movie-making in it.

The Last Shot (2004) - Making a Western in Providence, R.I.

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) - Elanor Coppola's footage

This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) - Haven't seen this one yet.

The Kid Stays In The Picture (2002) - Robert Evans. What a life. What a story. Also good on tape.

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004)

And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself (2003)

Hollywood Ending (2002) - Woody goes blind.

Also that Scorcese documentary about all the great Italian movies...Re: Top 5 Movies About Making Movieshttp://www.spout.com/groups/Top_5/Re_Top_5_Movies_About_Making_Movies/190/13629/1/ShowPost.aspxTue, 10 Jul 2007 23:14:58 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:13629indieabby8891. He started doing that when I was seven and hasn't stopped since.

2.
