He has not previously been nominated for any similar awards.&nbsp; Surprising omission?&nbsp; A long shot, but better than Jones was Ryan Gosling for <a href="http://www.spout.com/films/284372/default.aspx" title="Lars and the Real Girl (2007)">Lars and the Real Girl</a>; he&#39;s received several nominations (and no wins) to date.&nbsp; I think prediction-wise, though, you best be looking at Daniel Day-Lewis for<a href="http://www.spout.com/films/277967/default.aspx" title="There Will Be Blood (2007)"> There Will Be Blood</a>.&nbsp; Foreign Languge Film is usually a hotly contested category, mainly because of the inconsistent eligibility rules and arthouse cred/interest these films generate, and the five nominees not only fail to include those shortlisted&nbsp;but also highly buzzed about entries such as <a href="http://www.spout.com/films/316656/default.aspx" title="The Kite Runner (2007)">The Kite Runner</a> and Ang Lee&#39;s <a href="http://www.spout.com/films/282916/default.aspx" title="Lust, Caution (2007)">Lust, Caution</a>.&nbsp;
