"This is such a creepy disturbing film about two sisters who have extreme jealousy and hatred towards each other (which coincidentally is true about Joan Crawford and Bette Davis – in a documentary about their lives and making this movie together, there is a part where Bette Davis is suppose to “pretend” kick Joan Crawford, well Joan Crawford didn’t want to take any chances and made them put a dummy on the ground in her place, just in case Bette got carried away). Sometimes I think I still have nightmares of Bette Davis in her white pancake makeup and pigtails and frilly little dress singing, I’m Writing a Letter to Daddy – it just gives you chills at how good Bette plays a demented, insane, elderly child. One thing I always thought about this movie was that this is what happened between Baby June and Gypsy Rose Lee when they got older – Baby June was the child star and then faded into obscurity when she got older then ran off with a back ... "
