Synopsis
One of the first major films of the post-Stalinist thaw and a 1957 Cannes award-winner, The Forty-First's remarkable power stems largely from the stunning camerawork of Sergei Urusevsky (The Cranes Are Flying, I Am Cuba), who creates a timeless landscape of sand, water, and sky for an unexpected love story between a female Red Army sniper and a White Army officer. ~www.tribecafilmfestival.org
