As the action gets underway in Genndy Tartokovsky's colorful and kinetic animated adventure series, a young samurai trains to do battle with the nefarious, shape-shifting villain named Aku who exiled the vengeful swordsman's father. Bestowed with a his father's magical sword, which is thought to be the only weapon capable of slaying the dreaded Aku, the samurai prepares to confront his nemesis and free his people. Right at the moment of truth, however, Aku opens a time portal and sends the noble samurai hurdling headlong into a hellish future in which Aku has enslaved the Earth. Subsequently dubbed "Jack" by the downtrodden masses who long for a hero to defeat Aku, the samurai struggles to get back to his own time and prevent Aku from gaining the power that will allow him to control the planet for thousands of years. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
