Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld
A white-collar workaholic deceptively persuades his family to forgo their much-anticipated Hawaiian vacation for a cross-country road trip in a fully loaded RV, during which they discover the true meaning of family bonding, in Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld's family-friendly road comedy starring Robin Williams, Jeff Daniels, and Cheryl Hines. Bob Munro (Williams) is overworked and overstressed, and though his proposal to hit the road with his wife and two children at first sounds like a heartfelt bid to get better acquainted with his increasingly dysfunctional family, it soon becomes obvious that he had more career-oriented goals in mind when planning the trip. The Munros have always managed to get by in the past, though, and as they slowly become immersed in RV culture with a little help from a full-time troupe of Winnebago warriors, they might just make it to the Rocky Mountains without driving each other totally insane. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

"Overworked "Bob Munro" (Robin Wiliams) plans to leave for Hawaii with his strained family who need some serious quality time together. However, "Bob" changes the planned trip to a road trip to a lake in Colorado he and his parents went to when he was a child in a recreational vehicle which has a large advertisement of the RV rental place on one side of it. As soon as they hit the road (that they live on), things begin to go wrong. And the trip, which is partly a ruse so "Bob" does " [More]

"Personally, I think Barry Sonnenfeld's films are the damned funniest things out there today, and this one is no exception. I don't know why his films are critically reviled, but they make me laugh out loud...and often. Most certainly, there is the infamous "shit shower" scene that could most definitely be categorized as purile (which normally I despise), but here...I don't know why, but it's funny. Perhaps it's Robin Williams, whose work at the turn of the millennium turned less manic and mor " [More]

"With the summer months waning and my own plans for vacation steadily approaching, it seemed apropos to dedicate this week's theme to that equally loved and despised category of film known as the road movie. From the family-friendly RV to the magnificently perverse Natural Born Killers, the road movie " [More]

"Okay, since this conversation has devolved into 'all things poo-related,' I'll happily play along. If you'd like to see someone take an accidental poo shower, rent RV starring Robin Williams. It will give you pause should you ever need to empty a septic tank. I would also recommend Raising Arizona, for the scene where the Snoats brothers (John Goodman & Will " [More]
