""Dutch" (Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads a group of commandos into a dense Central American jungle to rescue hostages, which they learn have been slaughtered by their captors. They find the butchered remains of one of the ones sent in to rescue the hostages. They capture a female captor after destroying the encampment, and killing the majority of the captors and begin the journey back to where they are to meet with the helicopters that would pick them up to leave the area. It is then when they discover something is hunting them, something not from this Earth. First off, this movie is VERY bloody and graphic, and should not be viewed by young or impressionable children unless it is on broadcast television and edited for content and language. On the plus side, this movie is full of action. It also leaves little to no room for the audience to take a breath. One big problem, like most movies in this genre, is that the ones who don't survive have very little development. Some, more than ot ... "

"After nearly four years of YouTube, I’ve had enough of abridged movies. You know, where a user edits together only the necessary plot points of a film for a video called “(movie title) in 60 seconds.” But I must make an exception for the British rap duo The Anomalies. Those guys (DJ Mayhem and MC Mouthmaster Murff, specifically) know how to do condensed classics right. By rapping the plot synopsis. Earlier this year, they released an abridged version of Predator with rhymed narration. It was pretty funny. Now, they’ve come out an even better rap for RoboCop. It’s longer, it has a steadier rhythm and it utilizes the film’s dialogue far better than the Predator rap did. Plus, it’s so comprehensive at 10 minutes that I wonder why the film ever needed to be 102 minutes. Seriously, are there any necessary scenes excluded? Too bad it takes 9 months for the guys to make something so brilliant. I’m anxious to see what movie they tackle next. Fortunately, I could watch this video over and o ... "

"In the same vein as the "Alien" franchise (which, ironically, the two film franchises would mesh with AVP and its sequel), this film sets up a man vs. alien premise which works extremely well. I've seen this film several times now (mostly thanks to cable television) and I've got to tell you, I enjoy it every time I see it. Schwarzenegger is in top form and director John McTiernan is able and keeps things moving. All in all, a great film for the action-lovers crowd. My one gripe is the cheesy "turn around and smile" ending credits, I definitely could have done without that :P. "

"Released: June 12, 1987Director: John McTiernan*****In the 1980's, there was one go-to guy for action spectacle: John McTiernan. With Predator, his second directing job (Die Hard is the third), he mimics Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien to such a large extent, one has to wonder if that the intention by writers Jim and John Thomas. It's not enough another small group of people are terrorized in a remote area with no hope of help, but the creature again comes from space. The difference? At least these men have weapons.Where Predator excels is in creating an action film with precious little dialogue to explain what is happening on screen. Most of what we get are raised eyebrows, slinking through the jungle or reconnaissance through the trees. No interest in understanding the Predator, to reason with it. Only to survive. It's a 1980's themed film without a doubt for that very reason. Shooting and asking questions later, if at all. But it also makes Predator a very different movie th ... "

"Until the last 20 minutes, I was trying to figure out how Exit Wounds got its title. Some deep play on words like one of the bad guys introduced would be named John Exit? No, it's because of the nature of some key deaths at the end. You think you're in trouble when a pipe pokes you in the back? Not really... not until it plunges it's way through your mid-section and squirts out your belly button because you were falling from a helicopter onto a rooftop. Or a needle inserted into your throat? Not such a big deal when performed at a hospital to a cancer patient. But it does some damage when running face-first into a needle protruding from a wall and having it alter your hairline on the back of your neck.So what else is important about Exit Wounds? Definitely the star-power cameos of Bruce McGill and Bill Duke. These guys bring the combined credibility of Commando, Predator, Action Jackson, Bird on a Wire,

"being sick sucks.i've been wiped out for a few days now and its killing me. I have so much stuff to do that i dont have time for this.reminds me of the quote from Predator: “I ain't got time to Bleed.” so I'm desperately trying to get into the book writing tonite, meanwhile the brain feels like its going to explode into a chunky wall-covering mess. i'm hoping that saturday will yield better health.we took the kids to chuck-e-cheeses tonite and i was able to get thru that for the most part. kids had a good time and the pizza was actually edible this time. Something must have happened in chuck-e-cheese land because the place looks alot better. its been well over a year since our last visit and we'd sworn it off after that. But they've done something to revamp the place. It's still crowded on weekends, but it wasn't too bad, overall. We'll definitely revisit this particular location. Well its after 2 a.m. again. We're going to my parents house tommorow for Xmas/New Years ... "
