""Lord Cutler Beckett" (Tom Hollander), who has declared war on piracy to the point that he will order the hanging of a child who is remotely associated with pirates, is in the possession of "Davy Jones'" (Bill Nighy) heart. Since he has the heart, "Jones" has no choice but to do his bidding, and goes after every pirate ship to destroy it.However, the great pirate, "Captain Jack Sparrow" (Johnny Depp) is trapped in Davy Jones' Locker, and has to be released by the crew of his ship, which are being led by "Will Turner" (Orlando Bloom) and his love, "Elizabeth Swann" (Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley).Let me say first that some of the scenes are hard to see on television. This is due to the shadowing and dark colors used in these scenes. I noticed that I was paying more attention to my computer than the movie during these scenes. The performances, on the other hand, are as good as the last movie in the series I've seen (I have not seen the entire series, and do not recall which on ... "Loved the first movie. The second one was a mess and the third.... 2 hours and 50 minutes??!?!? Could have trimmed an hour off this easily. And Wil's character turned into Jack Sparrow... actually everyone kinda did. Disappointing flick, and I hear there are thinking about a few more sequels. "

"Ok, so I'm a sucker for Captain Jack Sparrow. But that's no accident. Gore Verbinski & Co. have tapped into the mass male population that deep down inside loves pirates, sword play, babes with weapons, pirates, twisted humor, anything that smells like Michael Bay, and pirates.I vow to own every DVD ever produced from this series. "Completely useless and way over-long, this third entry At World’s End, combined with the second film, feature none of the originality and charm that makes the first one such a surprisingly entertaining film. It manages to wrap things up in a completely unsatisfactory way (I’m surprised there wasn’t a bigger audience outcry over the fate of Will Turner, but perhaps by that time no one cared). It’s not that it’s a bad movie, it’s just that the first one was so good despite everything seemingly against it and the second and third movies just seem to be reaching for bigger set pieces instead of having the engaging story the first one did.

"Complaints about the Oscars include the following: the people who choose them are too old and out of touch; they don’t adequately honor comedy; they don’t give enough recognition to science fiction and fantasy movies; they fail to recognize that often the best animated film should also be nominated for best picture. Well, except for that last issue, the Kids Choice Awards, which announced their 2008 nominees today, should be then be a favorable alternative. Obviously they are chosen by people who are young and hip. They continue to acknowledge the worth of both comedy — Eddie Murphy received his eight and ninth nominations this year — and science fiction/fantasy (note to the Academy: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Transformers are more than just special effects and other technical achievements!). If only Shrek the Third, which received four nominations, was in the race for best movie in addition to best animated movie then the Kids Choice Awards would definitely be th ... "

"Here it is, one final post relating to the movies of 2007. This in my opinion is really the only list that counts. Here I'm not talking about the supposed best films of the year (although some certainly are) but rather which ones I personally loved most. This time I'm actually going to place them in order though. So sit back and relax as I unveil my top ten favorite films of 2007. (Sadly, 'Bratz' is not one of them.)[10] 'Black Snake Moan'I love Samuel L. Jackson. He's the only reason I'm even interested in the upcoming action-flick 'Jumper.' His role in 'Black Snake Moan' as the bluesman Lazarus was something completely different for him. This was a movie which basically boils down to being about a black man reaching out to a lust driven white girl in an attempt at helping her with her sickness. Sounds a little dirty when in fact their relationship in the film is anything but. The sad thing is this turned out to be a de "

"I must say my hopes and expectations were so low after the second movie that maybe this movie isn't really as good as I think. Having said that, I saw it last night and was most impressed. With multiple double-crosses and alterior motives on the part of, well, everyone the entire movie is one big 170 minute Mexican standoff. I don't think it was just lowered expectations - I truly think this was a great movie. If you like pirates. And all of these great actors. And good storytelling. Normally, I'm not an action & adventure guy but I did enjoy the action sequences more than usual. Sadly, the comedy falls flat in most instances. What's interesting about this series is it started off so tongue in cheek. The harder it tried to be serious adventure and all too self-aware comedy it lost something. What's rather weird is I think you can watch the third movie in either Lord of the Rings or The Matrix without watching the first two films of either yet this one you ac ... "
