Synopsis
A cult figure from his days as Frank Zappa's house animator, Bruce Bickford works alone in a basement studio near Seattle, producing films that are rarely seen. Monster Roads journeys back to Bickford's childhood during the paranoia of the Cold War and examines his relationship with his father, George, a retired aerospace engineer facing the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.
Combining verite footage, interviews, home movies, childhood drawings, and never before seen animation, Monster Road explores the fascinating combination of influences that fuel Bickford's cinematic visions and nightmares.
