An outwardly happy husband and father enters into a tenuous agreement with the hit man who was hired to kill him in the feature directorial debut of
Le Petit lieutenant screenwriter Cederic Anger. At first glance, businessman Leo Zimmerman (Gilbert Melki) is the picture of upper crust contentment; he's got a loving wife, a beautiful daughter, and a bright future in finances. His easy life takes a sudden turn for the worst, however, when a mysterious stranger named Dimitri (
Grégoire Colin) appears in his doorway asking how to invest a substantial amount of money that he has recently inherited. But Leo can spot a lie from a mile away, and before long he surmises that Dimitri has been sent to kill him by the powerful opponents who resent his success on the financial markets. Resisting the temptation to attempt an escape or summon the police, Leo calmly requests that Dimitri allow him to live just long enough to close the deal that will ensure that his daughter is financially secure when he is gone. Much to Leo's surprise, Dimitri accepts. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
