"Lake Placid 2 is a sad parody of the witty original. the set-up is the same - people are going missing and then getting attacked/eaten on a peaceful Maine lake. Luckily, the filmmakers just gave up and went for the camp, knowing this film could never be taken seriously. But it's not even campy enough to be really good.I really enjoyed

"I just watched this sequel with some buddies last night. I was digging the original, and didn't really expect much given this one's a sequel, but it really wasn't as bad as people have been saying. Sure, it's ultra-cheese, and the effects are worst than standard made-for-tv. But the acting is tolerable, and if you're in it for the bitchin' one liners and quirky characters, than get ready for one bad-ass beer and B movie night. "
