[What do you think?]
"Owing in large part to being on the cusp of Generation X & Y and having that slacker mentality emblazoned on my soul, Jumper seemed to perfectly appeal to my flights of fancy and kept me excited from start to end. Simple story (undoubtedly too much so for some) and loaded with action and effects that keep you mesmerized, not skeptical, drive this film about a young man discovering that he has the ability to teleport anywhere in the world and using it to do whatever, whenever, he wants. "What the hell is this jumbled mess? I thought this movie was a disappointment, from the disjointed writing and poor acting. Hayden Christensen proves once again he cannot act his way out of a paper bag. Show some emotional range man! Samuel L Jackson looks goofy in the white fro, and doesn't add much weight to the story either, seems kind of wasted here. Would have liked a better backstory on why this movie is happening. Doug Liman does have the knack for good action scenes though, those parts are what kept my interest. "

"I´m convinced "Jumper" has a connection to the number 5. After all, David (Hayden Christensen) claims he´s been in love with Millie (Rachel Bilson) since he was five. Griffin´s (Jamie Bell) parents died when he was five. David´s mother, I think, ran out on him and his father when he was five. If there is a connection, the script never bothers to make it. Which is par for the course, apparently, since other plot points don´t connect in any way, either. After he falls into an icy river one day after school, David Rice learns he is able to teleport, or jump, from one place to another. He also learns how to rob banks and steal everything from wetsuits to surf board. It isn´t until an encounter with a man simply known as Roland (Samuel L. Jackson, with a hideous head of white hair) that David goes from being a hunter to the hunted. Coming in at a paltry 88 minutes, "Jumper" wants to create a new super hero, a different type of super hero. Not an X ... "

"I bet the script was done for a TV pilot. It was an OK movie though. Plus, it was great to hear a dialog again between young Anakin and Samuel L. Jackson - this time Hayden actually promises he'll not turn to the dark side! "

"Before you read this, understand that I will be stating opinions on vague statements--intended for those who have seen the movie already. For those of you who haven't seen it, SEE IT. In Star Wars Episode II you wanted to believe in Hayden's character, but the whiny exterior and shallow interior made him a person you didn't care to know better. It was obvious that he had potential, but it was also obvious that the director would not allow any of the improvisation Christiansen could have offered (and what ultimately could have saved the Anakin character we have come to tolerate and roll our eyes at). But this review is not about Star Wars. This review is about the role that finally opened our eyes to an incredible actor and a role that finally allowed him to breathe and put his personal touch into. Jumper was well-directed and I thank God there is someone out there that understands what it is the audience wants to see. The story opens with the outcast (don't they al ... "

"As a "faith-based" person - I truly loved this movie! Sure it left rooms for a sequel and it caused me to search out the book, you did know there was a book? I loved the idea of being able to have this ability. However, I was disturbed by Sam L.'s character. Who made him God? "

"So, just as I as starting to separate Hayden Christensen's character in Jumper from Anakin Skywalker, Samuel L. Jackson shows up wielding a "wand" style weapon. It was then that it occurred to me that Hayden and Samuel have worked together before.Over all, I thought that Jumper was a really fun movie. It kept my attention the whole time. It didn't get into long, detailed explanations of how "jumping" worked. It didn't bore me with an hour of Hayden's character learning and fine-tuning his new skills. I thought that the story progressed at a nice pace. I wouldn't describe Jumper as a great film, but it also did not feel like standard Hollywood formula. For those that saw this movie as another Hollywood indictment against Christianity, I guess that just don't see much of a connection. Sure, Samuel L. Jackson's character is a religious fanatic, but religious fanatics come in all flavors. "

"Actually I thought the movie was really good... although I don't think that too many "faith based " idiots will appreciate it.... Seiing Samuel Jackson, run around trying to kill off the "heretic" jumpers because they are doing an "abomination.... hmmmm you can see how the "Religios" people started the inquestion.... I was pleased to see the good guy got away...What is cool is that there are movies that are showing the true side of faith based ideology... Those who have thier grand delusions won't appreciate watching much less listening to a movie that might be a conflict of thier interest... much less take them out of thier comfort zone... This movie touched on the subject that some have the ability to transpot to other places... maybe someone has found out that there are a few who have such abilites, but then unless you do your homework... one would never believe it is possible to do this. the church especially doesn't want you ... "They built up this movie to be one of the best of the year, but instead delivered an ok performance. If it was not because of all the talk about it, I think I might have expected less from the film and enjoyed at least to the point of probably renting it when it came out on BD. I will have to say, it could have been a contender if it had a better plot, and better acting. "
