This documentary, part of the
Investigative Reports series from the Arts and Entertainment Cable Network (A&E), explores the world of Dr. Dorothy Lewis, a well-known researcher on the causes of violence and violent behavior. Dr. Lewis, a professor of psychology at New York University, believes violent behavior is based on childhood abuse, head injuries, or brain damage. She has provided expert testimony during the trials of such infamous murderers as Ted Bundy and Mark Chapman. Narrated by
Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, this video follows Dr. Lewis through her work in two murder cases of Arthur Shawcross and Terrance Wainright. There is footage from the trials of both men, but also videotape from evaluations with Dr. Lewis and reviews of neurological evidence.
Investigative Reports also shows Dr. Lewis' main opponent, Dr. Park Dietz, who continually challenges Dr. Lewis' opinions on certain cases. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, All Movie Guide
