"Professor Alan Whitmore is sent to Budapest to find out why a colleague working on an important worldwide research project has made himself so scarce. The project involves translating and understanding writing that is linked to an ancient religion soon found to be much less dead than anyone suspected. The followers know what the writing contains, the names of their deities, and there are no measures too ghastly to protect this secret. The world will know soon enough… Here is an absolutely stunning supernatural horror film that is filled with dark, color-accented, atmosphere. No surprise that this has been compared to Dario Argento’s work on a number of occasions. Lots of violent intensity and Sergio Stivaletti’s F/X work is beyond amazing! "
