"I've decided that my favorite production company is Castle Rock Entertainment. They seem to provide consistant entertainment, even when the material is flawed, as it was here. The film never really goes anywhere, characters aren't fully developed or utilized, and it desperately wants to be "Stand By Me", but oddly enough, it was still fun to watch. With screenwriter William Goldman and cinematographer Piotr Sobocinski working behind the scenes, and Anthony Hopkins, David Morse and a very precocious Anton Yelchin in front of the camera, you've can't help but have cinematic gold....or, in this case, fool's gold.
