"This is one of those movies where the absolute less you know going into it the better. Don't read this review unless have seen the film already, or do not intend to. The first time I saw He Loves Me...He Loves Me Not, the debut film from Laetitia Columbani, I thought it was a passable cinematic trick, a trick that I half-guessed before it was revealed. Seeing it again, I see what an interesting bit of cinema it really is. Hey, I'm not kidding here! Major spoilers revealed! "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (2003) is the story of a pretty young French art student who develops a fanatical attraction to a somewhat older, married man. It is the first major film by a young writer and director just out of film school. The first half of the movie shows things from the young woman’s perspective, but we only become aware that we have seen things from her unique perspective when, half way through the movie, the film rewinds and we see all of the events from another point of view. Although the acting is good—especially by Audrey Tautoo as the erotomaniac—the film is not the thriller it is advertised as. It falls flat because it is too didactic. It would be a good training film for psychologists. "
