"The Hangover I'd been wanting to see the one because of Zach Galifianakis but missed it in the theatre. I ended up seeing it unexpectedly at the end of a night at a house party. When things were dying down someone started playing what I assume was a pirated copy and I couldn't help but just staying and watching the whole thing. It was pretty much what I expected from previously seeing the trailer and some of Todd Phillips' other films. Zach is pretty much the highlight here. Although everyone else in the cast is good as well. Zach just has the more out of this world kind of acting. Doing things that other people might find embarrassing but Zach acts as though is just logical for his character. This is as opposed to the kind of frat boy mentality of Bradley Cooper and Justin Bartha's characters that embody the most overall tone of the film. This is the kind of tone that I " [More]

"Once it was John Landis and Animal House and Bob Clark and his Porky's films. Now, when one thinks low brow frat boy humor, one’s mind tends to drift toward the films of Todd Phillips. Most likely the name will not ring a bell - his name is not big enough to create buzz from the multi-plex masses, nor indie enough to incite idol worship from the cinephiliac crowd - but his films (site specifically, Road Trip and Old School) are among the so-called elite of the genre. Yet, with the exception of a few (a very few) laughs interspersed within the toilet nyucks of Old School, Phillips is not exactly known for his classic comedic skills. He is known for a low brow technique of fart, feces and penis jokes, and being that guy who let man-child Will Ferrell run around completely stark-raving naked throughout his most well known film. His films, which also include the Starsky & Hutch retread and the somewhat underappreciated School for Scoundrels, have always seemed chock full ... " [More]

"Plot: The movie begins with one of the grooms friend calling the bride as she is rehearsing for the wedding that they won’t be able to make it to the wedding since they lost the groom : And what a better place and time then at Doug’s bachelor party in Vegas. The trio in the party wake up after a night of crazy partying to a trashed up hotel room with a baby in the closet, Mike Tysons tiger in the washroom and a half naked chick prancing out of the room. They are called upon to retrace their steps backward to the previous night to find Doug so that they can make it to the wedding on time. Review: Based on the target audience (18 young males and females) this is one heck of a movie and probably one of the best comedies this summer. For everyone else it can be described as raunchy, gross humor specially catered to a younger male audience. The hangover is clearly a man’s movie, but it doesn’t fail to deliver in terms of cleverness and storytelling. Althou ... " [More]

"It’s mostly a blur. At some point, there was someone’s house. One guy was laying on the floor with a tiny dog licking his face while he giggled uncontrollably. A friend of a friend was picked up and creeping everybody out, and Heather Graham might have called the police on him. That is when I left. Was that my bachelor party or someone else’s? Or, was I watching The Hangover? In comic book jargon, it is the gutter. That blank space between the sequence of images that allows your brain to fill in the gaps. Your imagination searches through the universe of possibilities based on the visible evidence. The Hangover translates this to the " [More]
