[What do you think?]
"In my capacity as a Spout Maven, I've reviewed a number of films distributed by Film Movement, including Mother of Mine, the movie under discussion here, A Peck on the Cheek, Be With Me, and Drifters. The promotional material included with the DVDs of these movies and the introductions on the disks themselves describe Film Movement as a film-of-the-month subscription club. Members receive award-winning foreign films in early release, by mail, "to keep," once a month. The films can later be found at Netflix, Blockbuster, or your local library. A nifty idea for some few film buffs, but every time that I hear about this club, I worry about its health and survivability. What kind of market can there be for a little club like this? How long can a company like Film Movement survive, if it relies upon a subscription base that is bound to be relatively small? "High-heel shoes and Cigarette star in the diamond heist snoozer Flawless. Cigarette’s performance is smokin’ but it couldn’t save the movie from its ridiculously illogical and uneven script or from the likes of the other performances. Flawless? - there couldn’t be a worse name for this movie. London Diamond Company owns the diamond trade all over the world. Rotund, greedy diamond executives keep the entire supply of diamonds in the vault in the basement. Laura Quinn (Demi Moore), assisted by her sidekicks Cigarette (Marlboro Light) and High-heel (Jimmy Choo), is a negotiation manager who gets passed over numerous times for a better job. After the last time she got passed up, Mr. Hobbs (Michael Caine), the night janitor, offers her the opportunity to stick it to the man by stealing a thermos full of diamonds. What Laura Quinn doesn’t know will hurt her. To call the writing in Flawless atrocious would be like calling Bill Gates a man of comfort ... "

"I haven't read the Chronicles of Narnia, nor have I revisited the first film sine it came out. So, Prince Caspian seemed a little disjointed to me. But I did enjoy the story of a young prince trying to retake his kingdom from his evil uncle, with the help of those four kids from the first movie. The action was very good, as were the special effects. The message got a bit heavy-handed at the end, but I liked this better than the first, despite the special-needs bear. "For Aslan!"Coming Home stars Jane Fonda ("Georgia Rule") as the wife of an army captain who begins volunteering at the Veteran's hospital when her husband goes off to Vietnam. There she meets Jon Voight ("National Treasure: Book of Secrets"), who has returned from the war wounded and angry. He opens her eyes to the darkness and love. Voight is amazing, totally earning his Oscar with a couple of outbursts and an inspirational speech. All in all, I enjoyed the movie, but felt it moved a little slow. Good examination of h ... "
