Nicholas D'Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen headline this teen comedy concerning two high-school football players who attempt to avoid another summer at football camp by becoming cheerleaders. Out on the gridiron, Gerald R. Ford High School students Shawn Colfax (D'Agosto) and Nick Brady (Olsen) are star players. But summer is drawing near, and this year neither Shawn nor Nick can stomach the prospect of spending their sun-soaked months lunging at tackling dummies and getting berated by their coach. Fortunately, Nick has a brilliant solution to their current dilemma: sign up for cheerleading camp and spend the summer surrounded by gorgeous women. But head cheerleader Carly (Sarah Roemer) can see right through them, and when Shawn falls head over heels for her, their genius plan hits an unexpected hitch. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

"Some more of my terribly far behind reviews...Fired Up is surprisingly funny for a PG-13 comedy. Two girl crazy football players decide to go to cheer camp instead of missing out on two weeks of action. The jokes come fast and are witty enough to avoid the R rating, but definitely push the PG-13 line. I had a lot of fun with this. Favorite bit: One kid: "Dude, she's like 30." Other kid: "That's " [More]

First time feature director Will Gluck's teen sex comedy Fired Up stars Eric Christian Olsen and Nicholas D'Agosto as Nick and Shawn, high school football stars in the midst of a deep bromance. Their bonds are rooted in the fact that they've had sex with just about every girl in school. This situation leaves them looking for new options, so, in a moment of insight, they sign up for cheerleading camp, a locale that offers hundreds of new hookups. As they plow their way through tons of girls, Shawn unexpectedly falls for Carly (Sarah Roemer), his school's head cheerleader -- and seemingly the only woman under the age of 19 to realize what total a-holes Nick and Shawn are. Will Shawn prove his love for her by committing himself to the cheerleading squad? Will Carly ever find out that her current boyfriend, Dr. Rick (David Walton), is also a lying male slut? Will anyone need a trip to the clinic? There is little to be said about the movie other than it feels like the pitch meeting went something like this: Writer -- "How's this for an idea? Van Wilder and Stiffler hook up with the girls from Bring It On?" Producer -- "Brilliant! Can you make it a hard PG-13? You know, lots of references to gay sex and tons of almost nudity -- girls in bras and dudes using pom-poms to cover their packages? You know, raunchy, but not too over-the-top because we want kids to be able to buy tickets to this thing?" Writer -- "Sure!" Producer -- "Excellent. That way, you know, we make more money selling an "unrated" DVD in three months." ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
