The made-for-TV Exile can be summed up as a kindler, gentler Lord of the Flies. Twenty somewhat sheltered American students are marooned on a Malaysian island. The "survival of the fittest" theme is shunted aside in a spirit of camaraderie and cooperation, as the kids pull together to survive.
