Brought to television by PBS Home Video, this documentary changes the channel on conventional TV by detailing the true beginning of perhaps the greatest form of communication invented in the 20th century. Part of the American Experience series of informative programming, this 60-minute episode tells the tale of one brilliant but obsessed inventor named Philo Farnsworth. Tinkering on the technology in the 1920s, Farnsworth brought his incredible invention to fruition in 1934 as a stunned audience looked on.
