The title character is played by

in this lower-case melodrama. She plays a gossip columnist whose brother, a prizefighter, is murdered. To uncover the killer, Revier (whose photograph has evidently never been published by her newspaper) goes undercover, posing as a hard-boiled nightclub hoofer.
