"I thought one thing as I left "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem," the sequel to 2004´s atrocious "Alien vs. Predator": if the human storylines had been removed from the screenplay, letting it focus on the titular creatures, this wouldn´t have been a half-bad movie. There´s no way this film can hold a candle to the entries helmed by Ridley Scott ("Alien"), James Cameron ("Aliens") or John McTiernan ("Predator"), nor should it be judged against them. All this movie has to do is let a couple xenomorphs and a hunter duke it out for 90 minutes. Sadly, it can´t even do that right. Picking up immediately after the events of "Alien vs. Predator," the Predator space ship crashes into a Colorado forest, drawing the attention of a hunter and his son. The ship is brought down by a Alien-Predator hybrid; not only does that creature get away, but face huggers held in stasis are also let loose. As a lone hunter journeys to Earth, we´re introduced to a group of humans who ... " [More]

"Alien vs. Predator Requiem is the second movie where two famous alien species clash in an ultimate fight to the death. The only difference is this time the Aliens and Predators are fighting in a small town somewhere in the United States. One thing that I liked about Alien Vs Predator was the fact that there was a team of people in the arctic discovering this pyramid. In this movie the plot is a little more traditional for slasher movies, you have some people in a town going about their regular routines when out of know where comes killer aliens. The conclusion of this movie was much different than that of the first movie and the Predators seem to be much more powerful in this movie. The Aliens in this movie are also significantly weaker than they were in the Alien movies and in Alien vs. Predator. Despite the noticeable changes, this movie had some great action, scary aliens, fierce predators, and all the face sucking spiders and slime that Alien fans have come to love, and all the ... "Continuing where the last film ended, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem follows a lone Predator hunter out to dispose of those pesky, quick-breeding Aliens as they run rampant in a small town in Colorado. Leading them in their gory killfest is an Alien/Predator hybrid that is all sorts of savage which leaves the townsfolk to run around like chickens with their heads cut off (literally). With its striking cinematography, cliched yet believable peripheral story-lines, engaging cast of predictable characters, and non-stop action sequences, AVPR is surprisingly effective from beginning to end. Ultimately AVPR is an acceptable addition to the Aliens and Predator series for those viewers willing to cut corners to see their favorite aliens back on the screen. Bring on the sequel! " [More]

"Holy. Fucking. Shit. This movie is fucking great. Well, sort of. It’s so great because it’s so fucking bad. Before watching this movie, you should go and rent “Commando” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Watch it, and if you enjoy it, you’ll like AVP:R. Obviously, nothing can touch the cheesy-ness of Commando, but you have to give AVP:R credit for trying. I mean, this movie hit every single movie cliché right on the nose. It’s fucking amazing.First off, let’s have a run down of the plot which can be summed up in about 2 sentences. The aliens and predators fight on earth (aka a small Colorado town) with a group of dumb characters trying to survive. Sorry, I was wrong; it can be summed up in one sentence. Now, let’s have a look at the characters, who are about as interesting as a blank piece of paper. I thought in movies, you’re supposed to care about the characters, but in this one, you actually root for them to die and ... " [More]

"From the official Oomph! website:December 26th is going to be anything but cozy – instead of sitting with your loved ones in front of the Christmas tree, you should get to your favorite movie theater and watch the new film, "Aliens vs. Predator 2". And no less than Oomph! have contributed the title track, "Wach Auf!". The song will also be officially on sale from January 4th, 08.OOMPH! VS. ALIENS VS. PREDATOR 2 means one cult meets another at a completely new level. This time the beasts meet up in a small town full of people. Predator’s space ship crashes in the forests of Colorado, all because of a new type of creature, the PredAlien – a mixture of Alien and Predator. They tear off on a romp through the town until a Predator with special abilities, the Superpredator, shows up to rain on their parade. The ultimate B-movie battle of all time begins…. " [More]
