Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson
Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, Alien vs. Predator follows billionaire Charles Bishop Weyland (Lance Henriksen) and his team of drillers, scientists, and archaeologists, to an obscure pyramid site in Antarctica. Among the icy ruins, allegedly, lies the proof of an empire predating humankind. Once there, however, the group finds more than ancient sarcophaguses and hieroglyphics; rather, their discovery consists of dismembered human skeletons and fossilized remains of the alien creatures that appear to have violently burst out of their chests. Even more horrifying is the evidence suggesting that the aliens may still exist. Indeed, there are aliens below the pyramids, but an equal threat looms above: three Predators, all on the verge of manhood, are engaged in a gruesome rite of passage -- every hundred years, young Predators must travel to Earth and take on a hunting ritual in order to complete the transition to adulthood or die in the process. Before long, the humans find themselves battling for their own lives as the Predators and aliens continue their fight for superiority. The film also features Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Ewen Bremmer, Colin Salmon, and Agathe de la Boulaye. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

"Two of the most popular modern-day movie monsters square off in this highly anticipated, though somewhat weak, motion picture. A millionaire (Lance Henriksen) hires a group of archaeologists and other experts to investigate a pyramid which lays 2,000 feet below the surface of Antarctica. What they find are two alien species -- one a hunter, the other its prey. They also discover that the pyramid has moving walls and chambers which cut them off from one another. They th " [More]

"I can only imagine what compromising pictures there must be floating out there of Joan Allen to get her to agree to a role in director Paul W.S. Anderson's car porn flick, “Death Race.” Granted, her role in the “Bourne” films was a " [More]

"Cool concept - flawed execution. Sure, the thing is shot wonderfully, and the effects are top notch, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be properly satisfied. The story, though, is deeply flawed in keeping with both the Alien and Predator story "facts". For instance, Alien blood is, by now, well known to be highly acidic, and this is shown when one of the Predators uses his wristblades to cut the Alien, and his wristblades melt. Not more than a few minutes later, the same Predator c " [More]

"You have to admit - The Predator and The Alien are two very intimidating creatures. And this film does an outstanding job of showing you how incredibly lethal they are. The fight scenes are well choreographed and sufficiently brutal. In fact - they kick some serious butt. While the creatures are the main attraction, Sanaa Lathan is awesome. Not the kind of movie I expected to see her in, but she can hold her own. This one is one thrilling sequence after another - well worth the price of admis " [More]

"A perfect franchise match-up, as the ultimate "sport-hunter" takes aim at the the ultimate natural predator. The film does an excellent job of merging the two legendary franchises, and even though it takes place in the present (long before any of the Alien movies), they do a great job of tieing it in to the series' continuity by having the main characters funded by Mr. Weyland, founder of Wayland Industries, better known as "The Company", the sinister organizatio " [More]

"Please reference this thread for the rules of this group. Again it's kind of an arbitrary comparison I know, but I still thought it was interesting how many Andersons there were as famous directors. I know Roy Andersson has an extra "s" in it, but as far as I know it's pronounced the same.
