"It's a sort of Cinderella story, but guy-style. Instead of a girl becoming a princess, a peasant boy becomes a knight. What a high honor, to be knighted! What girl can resist a cute guy determined to win her affections by passing her blood thirsty tests? My eyes rolled, followed by giggles. And that was just in the opening scene! " [More]

"Something strange happens when a talented actor’s life is cut short. There’s an oddly collective pang of grief and a permanent shift in how their work is viewed. We took on the challenge of talking about Heath Ledger through one of his less obvious works, A Knight’s Tale (2001). Karina investigates the meaning of “sex comedy” and how the obsolete censorship of the Hays Code influences Juno. "it was pretty to look at, quite fun and romantic. I would call it a fairy tale movie, because it was so positive! Nothing went wrong. Well, it did once, but at that point it didn't matter, because it was already clear that everything will be super cool at the end. This was the "Tom and Jerry" kind of movie where actual injuries don't matter unless they need to. I enjoyed watching it, but I kind of expected more realness from a kind of movie that uses rock music and fancy hairstyles in medieval times. " [More]
