"I thought The Nanny Diaries would be super cute. And I used to really love Scarlett Johansson ("The Prestige"), but ever since The Black Dahlia, I've started to lose confidence. And Nanny Diaries didn't really assuage my doubts. This film follows Johansson as she graduates from college, freaks out about who she is, lies to her mom and takes a job as a nanny for a super rich family. Laura Linney ("Breach") is beautifully neurotic. But you see where the story is going almost from the minute it starts. Johansson doesn't really have any chemistry with Chris Evans ("Sunshine"), though I'm not sure whose fault that is. Still entertaining fluff, but definitely a rental or a Lifetime movie one day.I was mostly drawn to A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints because of my unabashed love for both Robert Downey Jr. ("Zodiac") and Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers")., but it turned out to be a pretty good movie. It's a better than average coming of age story told in flashbacks from t ... "

"Dito Montiel has cast his A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints star Channing Tatum in his new film, a still untitled drama about underground street fighting. Tatum has a fervent teen girl fan base, who will surely delight at the prospect of seeing their guy shirtless and bloodied. I say the following in all sincerity: if they can land a PG-13 rating, this sounds like box office gold. Theater actor Stephen Lang, who unsuccessfully read for a role in Aliens over 20 years ago, has been cast in James Cameron’s upcoming motion-capture epic, Avatar. The Hollywood Reporter thinks The Bourne Ultimatum should easily clear $60 mil this weeken "

"By Tricia Olszewski How do you like your murder investigations to be served up—darkly, or with generous dashes of merriment? Infamous, or Capote No. 2, retells the story of last year’s Oscar-winning film about the researching and writing of Truman Capote’s “nonfiction novel” In Cold Blood. Writer-director Douglas McGrath, working off of George Plimpton’s oral biography Truman Capote: In Which Various Friends, Enemies, Acquaintances, and Detractors Recall His Turbulent Career, infuses his movie with the gossipy spirit of Plimpton’s book. But the arc of both films is largely the same, even if their tones are as antithetical as the real and purported motives behind Capote’s visits to his incarcerated subjects. Diminutive and little-known British actor Toby Jones plays Capote, and he therefore arguably has more success bringing the author to life than the previous biopic’s star, Philip Seymour Hoffman. With Hoffman’s bulk an ... "

"I don't usually like watching violent movies, but this one was worthwhile. The violence was there, but I didn't feel like I had to cover my eyes.I connected with almost every character, and felt sad for each one. Maybe a little hopeful for a few of them, but mostly just a little sad. "
