Directed by Aldo Lado
When the story begins a young girl who has wandered away from her nanny at a French ski resort is abducted, killed, and buried in the snow. Later, in Venice, the young daughter of Franco (George Lazenby), a popular sculptor, is stalked by a woman in a black veil. Finally, after several near-chances, the girl is grabbed, only to be found later floating in a canal. The police are as arrogant as they are stumped, so Franco, accompanied by his estranged wife, Elizabeth (Anita Strindberg), investigates. As Franco begins uncovering clues, the people he talks to about the case begin to die gruesome deaths. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide

"[quote user="Macabre_FilmNut"] WHO SAW HER DIE is quite stylish. I'm a huge fan of Fulci's DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING. Also check out ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO SOLANGE?, TOO BEAUTIFUL TO DIE and man, I could go on and on when it comes to Gialli! Mark [quote user="Macabre_FilmNut"] Just looked at a preview of "SO SWEET SO DEAD". Actually I believe, I just found another cool site foir movies, besides the point. Movie looks " [More]

"[quote user="digitalconquest"] Nick, Fulci, I don't know if I'd call them gory westerns. His were violent, but if someone goes in thinking gorehound dream, they may be disapointed. Of his westerns, I'd personally recommend MASSACRE TIME with Franco Nero and George Hamilton. One of my favorite Gialli is SO SWEET SO DEAD, which plays like a crime film, but is definitely a gialli all the way. As for Italian Crime films, my personal faves are: CON " [More]

Grim from the get-go, this entry in the Italian giallo genre derives its suspense by putting small children in peril. If you can get over that somewhat nauseating premise, Aldo Lado's murder mystery will keep you on the edge of your seat as Franco, the grieving father, searches his picturesque city for clues as to what happened to his innocent daughter. George Lazenby does a fine job expressing shock and bewilderment, and, as he unravels a conspiracy, violent anger in the role of the sad dad. The story may be more convoluted than necessary, but Lado keeps things interesting by giving each of the secondary characters some nutty quirk to make them memorable (you might not want to have birds in cages after seeing this). The lush on-a-budget photography, the detailed settings, and Ennio Morricone's indispensable score help keep you riveted. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide
