Directed by George Fitzmaurice.
Attorney Richard Randall (John Miltern) has been doing a speaking tour in which he denounces post-World War I food profiteers. This is dangerous business, as one of the worst profiteers, Everett Dearing (Edwin Stevens), is determined to stop him. Dearing enlists the help of lounge lizard Tony Terle (Leslie Stuart) to maneuver Randall's wife Beverley (Fannie Ward) into a compromising position. She is taken to a roadhouse, photographs are taken, and Dearing threatens to publish the pictures if Randall doesn't shut up. Beverley goes over to Dearing's office, and a struggle ensues during which Dearing mysteriously dies. But, as it turns out, Beverley wasn't responsible for the murder -- Terle, who was hiding in the office during her meeting, shot Dearing in the back. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
