Not a concert video as might be gathered by the title, Bette Midler: Mondo Beyondo is a zany hour-long parody of no-holds-barred cable TV shows. Bette impersonates an Italian sex bomb who hosts a raunchy variety hour. Many of the acts trotted out are blatantly phony (one, in fact, features Midler's husband as one of the members). Others are quite real, and the audience should have some fun determining whether or not these folks take themselves seriously. Bette Midler: Mondo Beyondo was directed by
