The Lucky Ones (2004)

Synopsis
Tim Robbins, Rachel McAdams, and Michael Pena star in director Neil Burger's bittersweet road drama concerning three soldiers who return from fighting in Iraq to discover that things aren't quite what they remember them to be. Collee (McAdams), T.K. (Pena), and Cheever (Robbins) are three Iraq War veterans who were honorable discharged after suffering various injuries on the battlefield. Upon returning home to find that life has continued in their absence, the three former soldiers set out on an impromptu road trip designed to tie up the loose ends they one left behind. For Colleen it's all about getting her heroic boyfriend's guitar back to his family since he saved her life on the battlefield. Meanwhile, T.K. seeks to summon the courage to face his wife after suffering a debilitating injury on the battlefield, and Cheever embarks on a monumental gambling spree in order to raise the money for his son's college tuition. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
