Based on The Idiot by Fyodor Dostevsky, director Mark Johnson's Hold the Door details the unlikely friendship between kindly teen Eugene and vicious street thug Hector. Drawn to Eugene for his sincerity and gentle nature, Hector's girlfriend Monica begins to form a warm and trusting bond with the naïve teen. Eventually, Eugene and Monica cement their friendship by symbolically exchanging a pair of crosses.
