Benson: Pilot (1979)

Synopsis
Actor Robert Guillaume reprises the role originated on the popular daytime drama parody Soap for this sitcom spin-off that finds the trusted butler managing the house of a harried Governor. When Jessica Tate receives word that her cousin, Governor Eugene Gatling (James Noble), has been widowed, she sends her longtime butler Benson DuBois (Guillaume) to whip the governor's home back into shape. Upon arriving at the governor's palatial estate Benson does his best to contend with head housekeeper Gretchen Kraus (Inga Swenson), offer the governor's daughter Katie (Missy Gold) some parental advice, and even advise the head of the household himself on some key issues. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
