Sense of Loss is practically a short subject. This time, Ophuls focuses his cameras on Protestant vs. Catholic violence in Belfast. It isn't hard to perceive Ophuls' personal sympathies. Throughout
Sense of Loss, the Protestants are made to look slightly pompous and ridiculous, while the Catholics are depicted with more warmth and fairness.
