In this teen-sex laugher, a high-school Romeo is killed in a car accident but is able to return to life for a 24-hour period. During this time he chases after his dreamboat only to find she's not interested. So, he turns invisible at the most opportune times (for him) such as in the girls' shower room, etc. He's out to have as good a time as he can in the little time that he has. ~ All Movie Guide

School Spirit is one of those strange '80s sex comedies that could only exist in the time in which it was made. The whole plot revolving around a guy coming back from the dead just to get laid is baffling in how blatant it is, as is the fact that they were able to stretch that epic tale over 90 minutes. And, about that problem where everyone would know the guy died and would then think that it was weird when he suddenly showed up horny as a bloodhound?...Yeah, that's never really answered too much. You
could look deep into that and say some kind of statement about the filmmakers' intentions about society's ambivalence or something crazy like that -- but this is School Spirit, folks, it wasn't meant to be a pathetic thesis. The pacing does work as a breezy time at the movies, though only enthusiasts would do well to seek this one out. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
