Iron Jawed Angels director Katja von Garnier and the producers of Underworld team to adapt author Annette Curtis Klause's tale of a teenage werewolf who is forced to choose between love and loyalty to the pack when she falls for a handsome young human. "I had wanted to see this movie just from the trailers alone.I finally found it at Walmart about a month or so ago,and bought it for $19.99.I love this movie so much, I watch it every day.The story line is very well done, and easy to follow. The photography is beautifully done. You get a chance to see a country not many U.S. citizens get to see. The movie is set in Bucharest,Romania which is a country steeped in history, beginning with the legend of Dracula. The original Dracula, known as Vlad the Impaler, and his castle still stands in Transylvania,Romania. This story is about the legend of the "Lu Garue". People who can shape-shift from human form to that of a wolf. Not the typical stereo type of the werewolves, but,an actual wolf. The changes they make are so beautifully done, and there is no pain involved for the Lu Garue. It seems to have a very spiritual feel and look to it.It is about a young girl by the name of Vivian, and her "pack". She lives with her Aunt As ... " [More]

"I thought this film was entertaining, but that's about it. I didn't really get that much out of it. I haven't read the book, so I can't compare it to that, but I'm sure the book was better (that's just usually the way it is). I would recommend it if you are a young adult (17-25). " [More]

"Blood and Chocolate is just pure entertainment. Based on a young adult book, the plot follows a young female werewolf who has a destiny. Of course, she falls in love with a human. And her furry family gets pissed. An actress who I'm really starting to enjoy, Agnes Bruckner ("Peaceful Warrior") stars. I liked how the werewolf transformations were handled. The people jumped, then glowed, and suddenly, a wolf appeared. A good way to do it if you can't handle full morphing effects. This movie is from the producers of Underworld, so it's more style than substance. But still entertaining. " [More]

"By Tricia Olszewski Regard the billing for Blood and Chocolate—“From the producers of Underworld”—as a threat rather than an encouragement. Just as snoozeworthy as its two vampiric cousins, this drama about a teenage werewolf—a different one, featuring neither Michaels Landon nor J. Fox—and her first love is a highly bastardized version of an Annette Curtis Klause novel, sharing a title and character names but little else. Apparently hypnotized by director Katja von Garnier, Agnes Bruckner stars as Vivian, an American loup-garou who’s been living with her aunt, Astrid (Katja Riemann), in Bucharest since her family was killed 10 years ago. Vivian works as a chocolatier and keeps to herself until she meets a fully human American named Aiden (Hugh Dancy). Aiden pursues her despite her flagrant attempts to avoid him; soon enough they’re getting caught in fountains and laughing in the rain. The bummer is that, according to her family&rsquo ... " [More]

"What is it that brings films to such point of trying to be something its not. Okay the story line as weak as it might be could have had a good chance of life if it was not due to the fact that for the most part of the beginning all I could laugh at was the action shots. Jumping off walls, leaping over things. Okay so these large groups of people are wolfs. ( now I will not get into the really bad special effects ) and this girl and no pun intended seems to be the black sheep, not wanting to be a part of the pack, a simple artist who comes across this girl and becomes intrigued with her. As he follows leads that bring him to this town what I thought was a large city but the movie portrays as it’s a small town in the out skirts of a European town, Lots of mixed directions in the movie. Well the movie goes on killings attacks and …. You know if they just took out the whole we are wolfs out, dropped the special want to be effects out. It could have had a chance to be in m ...
